Air Conditioning: There is a mini-split in the main living room, and window air conditioners in the bedrooms.

Animals: Deer, squirrels, geese, racoon, variety of birds, and chipmunks to name a few.

Beach/Swimming: You are able to swim right from the property. The water is very shallow, so it is nice for little ones. The bottom of the lake is clear but feels murky, so it is squishy. Water shoes are usually preferred. Swimmer's Itch is a possibility here. Please hose off thoroughly each time you emerge from the lake. There is a public beach across the lake, about 10 minutes away. Another location to swim at a Lake Michigan beach is 19 miles away at Petoskey State Park: 2475 M-119, Petoskey, MI 49770

Boats: 4 single person kayaks are at the property for guest use. Available Memorial Day through Labor Day. Note: Only boats for very shallow water will be usable at this property.

Boat Launch: Lark's Lake Boat Launch (Kaz Road) is 2 miles away.

Bugs: Typical Michigan bugs. If you are a guest in June, the no-see-ums can get through the screens, so be sure to close the windows at dusk.

Cable: No cable but there is a direct TV and a Roku TV in the living room.

Cell Phone Service: Spotty- However, the house wi-fi is good, so once you get here, log into wi-fi and use wi-fi calling.

Coffee Maker: There is a 12 cup drip coffee maker for guest use. Some coffee and filters provided.

* Van Lokeran Family Nature Preserve: (3 miles)- 33 acres of land. Includes over 1,320 feet of frontage on Larks Lake. Open to the public for swimming, exploring, and wildlife exploration.

Dock: There is a 50ft dock. Depth at the end is 1.5 feet.

Drinking Water: Well water. The refrigerator is filtered for drinking.

Drugs/Smoking/Fireworks: Freshwater does not permit illegal drugs of any kind on the property. Due to the location of the properties, smoking is strongly discouraged around the home and strictly prohibited in the home. Fireworks are prohibited at a Freshwater location for the safety of all persons in and around the property, even if it is legal in that city.

Fireplace: There is an electric fireplace in the living room.

Fire-pit: Yes

Fishing: Some common fish you will see in the nearby lake are bass, sunfish, and blue gill.

Fishing License: A license is required to fish in Michigan.

Fishing Poles: Please bring your own fishing poles.

Golf: Hidden River Golf and Casting club is 15 miles/21 min drive away

Grill: There is a propane grill for guest use.

Handicap Friendly: There are no additional accommodations at this property that would make it ADA compliant.

Heat: Propane boiler heats lower level only. There is a thermostat by the television set in the living room. The mini split also heats in the living room.

Hunting: Not on property

Internet/WIFI: There is fiber optic high speed internet at this property.

Linens: Yes, we provide your sheets and linens. Just like a hotel, the beds will be made for you upon arrival. We have just the basic sheets, pillows, pillowcases, and bath towels.

Parking: There is room for 2 vehicles.

Pets: Freshwater Vacation Rentals currently charges $75/per pet for your entire stay. Yes, we do accept dogs, yet we do ask that you please clean up after them both inside and outside the cabin. Plus, if you allow them on the furniture, we do ask that you please bring your own linens/blankets for them to sleep on. Just let us know which bed you will be using with them, and we'll make sure it is ready for your sheets when you arrive. Plus, if the pet hair starts to build, we do ask that you please run the vacuum. Generally, dogs love the water and places to explore. Pet food does tend to attract mice, so vigilance is needed.

Privacy: Neighbors are next door. There is an open lot on one side of the property. (Not for guest use)

Snowmobiles: a person (resident and nonresident) that operates a snowmobile in Michigan is required to purchase a snowmobile trail permit. The trail permit enables snowmobilers to ride state-designated trails and thousands more miles of public roads and on public lands (where authorized). It is valid for one year, which begins Oct. 1 and ends Sept. 30 of the following year. State-designated trails are open Dec. 1-March 31 and grooming occurs when there is enough snow on the ground.

Tunnel of Trees: Michigan's Tunnel of Trees is a 20-mile stretch of State Highway M-119 along the coast of Lake Michigan. It begins in Cross Village and goes south to Harbor Springs. It is around a 20-minute drive without stopping and will take around 40 minutes. Please plan for 4-5 hours to get out of your vehicle to explore and get the full experience of Michigan's beautiful fall colors!
