Maybe it was the beautiful character of the restored older home or the great, peaceful location near the water. We would definitely stay here again.”

”This cottage is the perfect blend of historic charm and modern upgrades. The view of the river is incredible, and the secluded location is just a short drive from downtown Wiscasset and Edgecomb. The sunroom is already a great place to hang out and enjoy the river view, but the owners are also putting in a lot of work to create an enjoyable outdoor space. Jeffrey is easy to work with and honestly wants you to have a good stay.”

It is more a 5 star hotel feel with more amenities like a full kitchen, tv/viewing room, heated floors in bathroom, etc. The host Jared asked and provided desired coffee, wine, and a wine/cheese. ”We enjoyed our stay at Ambleside. The spacious home was well appointed, clean, and the location was great. We were able to explore Boothbay with an easy walk to town via the footbridge or short drive. Cooking in one night was wonderful in the large kitchen, dining table for 10 and good cookware.
