”I canceled the reservation through Expedia, but for whatever reason it didn't go through. I received an email asking how my check in was, and I contacted both Expedia and the hotel immediately to explain that I had canceled the booking. The red roof inn was unwilling to negotiate with me or with Expedia on my behalf. They charged for "the first day" plus a penalty that totaled 2/3 of the booking price. Quadruple check that your cancelations go through! Needless to say, I will avoid this hotel in...

”Lots of Section 8 folks and immigrants stay here, police were there when we arrived. It was evident that the room had been smoked in, the smoke detector was missing, the toilet wonky, the door and door frame was damaged and worn but did still work, we set furniture in front of the door during the night just in case. The a/c unit was old and gross even though it worked. The fridge was in rough shape, put a soda bottle in it and in the morning it was frozen. Lots of noise in the night, even a dog...
