Great Ocean Road Shack

The Great Ocean Road Shack sijaitsee viehättävässä Peterborough joka on oikeassa DAB Smack keskellä jotkut kaikkein näyttäviä maisemia te koskaan nähdä. Coastal perfection

I'm not sure it's possible to rave enough about the shack - it is perfectly situated, with easy access by foot or car to a wide range of activities. It reminded me strongly of childhood beach vacations where the mix of pragmatic features and nostalgic elements were ideal. Lovely large yard. The perfect place for daydreams and board games.

Family short holiday

Accommodation was ideal for a Family holiday👍 Located on the water front ideal for fishing and water sports, plenty of garden space for Outdoor activity. Inside the Property was spacious,everything working and clean. Great communication with owner throughout stay.

Enjoyable Escape

The booking process was a breeze. Getting access when we arrived was easy. The place was clean and tidy. The location is great if you enjoy a good view and want to serve breakfast to a mate fishing on the floating pontoon across the road. Ok the fish weren't participating but it was a great way to escape post lockdown. A short walk to town or the surf beach and there are local dining options. Nearly every time we thought of something we needed it was in a cupboard or drawer(we left 2 stubby coolers in a drawer for future guests). Beds were comfortable and the lack of TV reception wasn't a major problem because we had an Optus wifi dongle and took down a bunch of comedy dvd's - so much better than watching the news these days. We would definitely stay again.

Quiet getaway right on the water

We really enjoyed a week at the 'beach shack'. It was so quiet and we slept amazingly well. The shack had everything that we needed including a big fridge, stove, oven microwave and all of the cooking utensils you could want. Deb was a fantastic host and communicator. She responded very quickly to all messages. There is a little jetty that we put chairs onto so we could fish and watch all of the birdlife. We liked being so close to Port Cambell as well. We would certainly stay again.

By the slipway

Wow what a beautiful. We arrived late on a Friday night. When we woke up in the morning and saw the inlet with a 180 degree view we where blown away. The property is very close to all the major tourist attractions. It is well cleaned and has all clean linen and towels. The boys where able to kick a football out side on the large lawn block. Next time we will bring our fishing rods. Defiantly will be revisiting

Perfect

The home is on the boat ramp and around the corner to an amazing beach brilliant sunsets and sunrises pelicans and rabbits people very friendly . Thank you my host wish I had stayed longer though must say the bins had not been emptied for weeks I did put them out hopefully they’ll be emptied it kinda stunk also I heated a cross bun under the griller and it caught a light due to all the fat in the grill tray that wasn’t cleaned no fault to host as I know they hire cleaners oh and lucky I had my dog as mice in the sand bags other than that absolutely loved the place especially location ❤️

Tranquil and Restful Location

We enjoyed our stay at Peterborough and Debbie was an excellent host who communicated well. The house was comfortable and in a very quiet location. It was lovely to look out across the inlet. The enclosed verandah at the rear of the house was roofed, large and enclosed, totally secure for our dogs, although the yard was not securely fenced. A very restful holiday.

Poor Cleanliness and Outdated

The house is in poor cleanliness. One of the room (and bed) has smell of vomit. Spider webs everywhere and we have killed not less than 20 spiders soon we checked in. I guess the house is cleaner at the time we checked out than before we checked in ! We booked for 7 people but the house has only 1 double bed, 1 bunk bed that sleeps 3 people plus two sofas (not sofa bed). The sofas are so short that they are so uncomfortable to sleep on. The price does not come cheap too.

The location is everything: that's what describes this place the best. Situated on the river bank, aside of everything else, staying in this property brings peace of mind and relaxation. We'd love to stay there for longer

Great location, nice home

We were quite happy with the place. It got a nice surrounding. Although the place does not have any fancy facilities, it was more than enough for someone who is looking for a relaxing quiet place. Very close to the 12 apostles, so if that is on your bucket list, this is the place to say.
