”This is a beautiful hotel which is well situated to see the tomb of Pelayo and the basilica. Charming and full of character, this hotel is worth the money. The restaurant serves dinner with Asturian classics at a reasonable price. The only criticism is that the waiter could not tell us anything about the cheeses we were eating. As Asturias is known for its gastronomy, a hotel of this class should have staff who can talk about the food in either English or Spanish. That said, I would not hesitate...

”This mountain house was positively delightful. While it was in a pretty remote location, the views were breathtaking. It's located in a quaint tiny village on the Cares trail -- definitely bring provisions with you as the kitchen is perfect for cooking meals (and the food is so good in this area it's hard to make a bad meal). Breakfast was included and was very welcome. We arrived quite late as we had problems getting off the ferry at santander. The staff left our room key in a safe lock and sent us a message.
