Not for everybody
This was our first time to visit LGI. Our stay was for two weeks. We enjoyed the location and it's proximity to the beach and we found the locals and other visitors to be friendly and helpful. Parking at the marina is $8/day. You must arrange in advance for your transportation to the island and to the cottage from the dock which is on the bay side. There is no hot tub. Almost all of the activities listed are on the mainland, accessed by water taxi. The A/C window units are not sealed. The handle on the European style doors is not fastened and falls off when used to close the doors. The cabinets in the kitchen are low for persons 6 feet or taller (I am 6'5". Ouch). The stove is an electric cook top. The oven is a toaster oven on the counter top. The refrigerator does not have an ice maker. You take your garbage back with you to dispose of upon your return to the mainland. We cleaned the dog slobber off the windows and doors. Sand will inevitably get into the cottage. Being aware of these issues and planning for them may enhance your comfort and enjoyment of your stay.

Overdue vacation.
Folks were nice to work with. Few very minor issues but overall nice week. The owners could not help this but the island was still digging out from the hurricane. Lots of trash and old appliances all over the island. The next door neighbors were having roof and siding redone so their workers started a generator every morning about 6:30 am and blocked our entrance and exit to our beach house with their scaffolding. No sleeping in. Ha. Nice location right on the beach, great weather and allowed our dogs. Had everything we needed.

The Best
This was our second stay here and again, the house is perfect. It’s quaint, quiet, has everything you need, and couldn’t be in a better location. This is the perfect place for my husband and 2 dogs, and we plan to make it a yearly vacation.

Lovely LGI cottage
This little cottage was very clean on the inside. The location is gorgeous and feels very private compared to other places on the island. Some minor outside landscaping could be done, but overall not bad. A/c was working great in all rooms during our visit- super cold in fact! I will comment that the bugs (no-see-umms and mosquitos) are intense on the island as a whole, especially at dusk and Dawn. They were really the only downside to our trip, but there isn’t much anyone, or the host could really do as it’s a problem throughout the island. We loaded up on bug spray and avoided being outside during the worst times for them. 10/10 would visit again, and stay in this old cottage. The bugs couldn’t keep me away from such gorgeous views and valuable family time.

Air conditioner issues
The location is great. Right on the beach. But the air conditioner doesn’t work and has window units do not properly cool the house. The pictures are old pictures. Property manager doesn’t fix the air and tells you he has a technician coming. And then has issues getting a boat to get to house to fix it We were promised it would be fixed then he drug it out until our check out date. Then still didn’t fix it because the best people can’t in didn’t have air either The beach is great and the island is a very cool experience. Just stay somewhere else. He did give us a 500 dollar refund

Location can't get any better!
We had a wonderful week. We have been visitors of LGI for the past 14 years and have stayed at many different homes and condos. This was, however, our first trip to the island without kids. The cottage was perfect for the 2 of us. We would absolutely rent this one again.
