”This is a very busy property and we felt the need of more immediate attention to our needs. This is not a property to be negotiated by the elderly. We had suitcases. We wished we had some prior notice/suggestion to repackage our necessities for portage down the hill from the car park to the property. The charm of this place is offset by the difficulty accessing it. We loved the views, the side alleys and the architecture but this is not a walkable venue for anyone with hip, knee or foot...

”A warm welcome from Jenny. Excellent breakfasts. A characterful property of considerable age with slightly quirky elements: who would expect statues of a Buddha and komodo dragon in a former abbey? Our en suite room room was spacious and clean. The large bed looked a little antique, but was very comfortable. Many would join us in liking like that mix of character and comfort.”

”Clean rooms, comfortable beds, basic room facilities, wifi problematic on the top floor. Staff very helpful, although a little frazzled during breakfast service. Good cooked breakfast. Limited parking is a problem when full.”

”Lovely room. Nice pub. Food good. EV charger was a definite benefit as well as coffee machine. Make sure you ask how to work the bedside lamps if not told!!”
