Majatalot – Pohjois-Kioto

”Wonderful ryokan in Gion with many sights within walking distance. We got very nice service also partially in english. Great atmosphere and plenty of space in the room (especially if you are just 2 persons staying). ”

”We stayed in Room number one. It was incredible. It was such a wonderful experience to stay in a historic building that had modern amenities and a lot of space. The room decorations and sliding doors were beautiful. The living room overlooks the garden. Everything was clean. It was nice to have the communal food area to grab coffee in the morning and a light meal. Be aware that the room entrance for the room is right next to the lobby. There are stairs to climb to get up to the room. We will...

”Majatalon japanilaistyyppisissä huoneissa kaikki tapahtuu lattiatasossa, joten nivel- ja selkäongelmaistem kannattaa huomoida tämä. ”

”Hiro was excellent and very helpful during my stay.”

”great location, wonderful house, japanese traditonal style”

”It was great!”

”Agréable, propre, calme , spacieux et traditionnel. Ma famille a adoré.”

”I didn't expect that it would be a whole house just for myself! The service was splendid, very polite and helpful. The house has everything you need, i.e. all the dishes. The interior is traditional and, very comfortable and nice.”

”I loved how authentic the experience felt and looked, curated by such amazing and sweet souls. ”

”Amazing experience with a friendly staff who made us feel very welcome! They offered suggestions for nearby restaurants and a free ticket to the public onsen next door. Definitely visiting again!”

”Perfect, basically own spacious apartment with hotel service. We stayed for 5 nights, 3 day clean up. You can always for extra amenities, Superb location. ”

”The place is too small and cramped up but clean, no towel provided, need to pay extra to use the towel, and it was not indicated that the restroom/ bathroom is shared to the other tenants but it's ok for us since we just stayed 2 days. Walkable restaurants, convenient store, and walkable Shrine nearby. Train station is far so we need to ride taxi.”

”located around prime attractions”

”An unforgettable traditional ryokan experience! Amazing location, extremely quiet, ultra relaxing, environment to completely unwind. The staff is incredible, the food is delectable, and the tea ceremony (do not skip) is a magical and unforgettable experience. You’re sleeping on a futon on tatami floors in a 157 year old building in historic Kyoto, just as they’ve done for 1,200 years. A wonderful way to spend a night or two during your visit!”

”Power outlet was so old that it’s surged and fried my power bank (was using a Japanese adapter). The smell of the building smelt like mold and I had struggled to breathe while I was there. That was my only issue, aside from that the host and people there were amazing. I had no other complaints aside from the buildings smells and dangerous outlet plug. 5 star service and hosts 2 stars for buildings upkeep and safety.”
