Ryokanit – Pohjois-Kioto

”Stayed in the room with a private bath, and its own interior water feature/mineral water stream. Possibly the best room(s - it was more of a suite) I’ve ever stayed in. Clean tatami mats, lovely meal, great private bath - we spent a lot of our visit just sitting next to the small waterfall/stream and reading.”

”Henkilökunta erittäin ystävällistä. Aamupala loistava perinteinen japanilainen.”

”Henkilökunta erittäin mielyttävää ja tunnelma juuri oikealla tavalla perinteisen japanilainen.”

”The location of the property is great. It is literally across from the train station. The walk to the bamboo forest, the shops and walking/biking/running trails are all very close. The room was very comfortable and quiet. My 3 star review is strictly based off the board. Knowing what I know know I 100% would not get the half board. This was my fourth city to have stayed in so far in Japan (including other onsens with traditional board) and the food here was by far the worst. We ended up skipping...

”The food and the hot bath were AMAZING. The room was beautiful too. Would be nice they were a little more understanding with scheduling issues, but overall very good✨”

”My fiancée and I stayed at a ryokan for the first time, and Ryokan Rangetsu couldn't have been a better experience! We stayed for one night, and when it was time to leave, we wished we had stayed longer. The ryokan is truly beautiful, and the staff is very attentive and friendly. Our room maid, whose name we regrettably cannot remember, was polite and made our visit feel truly special. Our room was spacious, clean and cozy, and the backyard very beautiful. We also enjoyed the outdoor bath a lot!...

”Such a beautiful venue with very attentive staff. The food was delicious and we were lucky enough to have the onsen to ourselves!”

”We had a pleasant stay at the Yachiyo ryokan that gave the taste of Japanese accomodation characteristics. Service was fairly smooth and the whole place was really tidy although maybe slightly outdated. The location was not super central but on the other hand it provided easy access to the Path of Philosophy, some temples and museum of modern art which btw had an exquisite Katagami exhibition at the time (recommend). Food was not included on our ryokan package so cannot comment on that.”

”Amazing experience! Friendly staff, clean and spacious rooms, close to many attractions. Highly recommend!”

”Incredibile experience of staying in a traditional ryokan. Very calm/peaceful atmosphere and the most lovely staff. Our room had everything we needed however, no coffee machine. There was a cafe nearby though, and breakfast was delicious and included coffee.”

”Erittäin hieno Japanilainen kokemus. Alakerran kylpytilat ovat loistavat. Futoneilla nukkuu hyvin. Paikat siistejä ja henkilökunta Japanilaiseen tyyliin ystävällistä. Suosittelen.”
