Perched on top of a hill overlooking the stunning Wairarapa Valley, Whitimanuka Retreat offers breathtaking views from every room. Designed as a peaceful escape, this beautifully crafted retreat combines comfort, luxury, and the beauty of the surrounding landscape.

In the bedroom, sink into the super king bed and wake to uninterrupted views across the farm toward the magnificent Tararua Range. Enjoy hotel-quality sheets, a natural linen duvet, and a selection of pillows for the perfect night’s sleep. A long window seat provides the ideal place to relax with a coffee, a glass of wine, or your favourite book while watching the animals graze nearby and the valley below. Four spacious drawers beneath the seat and a full wardrobe provide plenty of storage during your stay.

The generous ensuite bathroom has been designed with comfort and relaxation in mind. It features plush bathrobes, quality toiletries, towels and facecloths, a large walk-in shower with grab rails, and a toilet with grab rails. The beautiful freestanding bath sits beneath the window, allowing you to soak under the stars on a crisp winter evening. Underfloor heating keeps the space cosy and warm throughout the colder months.

The fully equipped kitchen includes everything needed to prepare meals during your stay. Complimentary tea, coffee, herbal teas, sugar, olive oil, salt and pepper are provided. The kitchen features a gas oven and cooktop, dish drawer, electric kettle, and pour-over coffee setup.

The living area is warm and welcoming, featuring a handmade couch crafted in Martinborough using timber milled from our own farm. Curl up beside the wood burner with a book from the bookshelf, enjoy a board game or puzzle, or simply relax and take in the views. Firewood and pine cones are supplied, and the fire quickly warms the entire retreat.

Outside, there are two separate deck areas to enjoy. The entrance deck includes the barbecue and firewood storage, while the front deck is perfectly positioned to soak up the expansive valley views. Here you’ll find outdoor lounge chairs, a dining setting, and an outdoor bath — the ultimate place to unwind beneath the night sky.

Whitimanuka Retreat sits within the internationally recognised Wairarapa Dark Sky Reserve, offering spectacular stargazing on clear nights. The outdoor bath is the perfect place to relax and experience the magic of the stars above.
