The cottage sits in an orchard in a quiet valley, surrounded by Banks Peninsula’s ancient hills. Hedges and plantings keep it completely private. Best of all, just outside your door, a sheltered spa and sauna look out over the shaded Owhetoro Stream. Spend your evenings soaking and steaming under cover, rain or shine, with the sound of the stream nearby, then wake to birdsong and a gentle, leisurely morning.

Inside, the cottage is cosy, colourful and full of character. The open-plan living and bedroom is warmed by a woodburner fireplace, perfect for toasty evenings curled up with a book from the shelves or watching your favourite shows on the smart TV with Freeview.

There’s a luxurious king-sized bed, plenty of storage, and a fully equipped kitchen for whipping up a magical meal. Outside the French doors, an intimate paved courtyard is ideal for a glass of wine, with deckchairs and lawns for sunbathing.

Guests are welcome to wander the Owhetoro homestead gardens, with herbaceous borders, a pear walk, orchards of apples, pears, quinces, figs, citrus and cider apples, native bush and towering totara hedges.
