”We had an incredible time at Monte da Vilharinha. Driving into the property is like something out of a movie. The rural landscape boasts quintessential while buildings, herds of cows with bells, fields of flowers and streams. When we arrived we were greeted by Jafer and the property dog cookie. Jafer was the most incredible host guiding us around the property, letting us know where to take the (free) bikes and available to answer any questions via WhatsApp at any time. ”Although well located, our unit needed a fair amount of TLC. in particular, the sofas were very dirty. As for the beds, the mattress needed a full replacement. I had to sleep on the couch in order not to feel pain from my back. As for the service, we had a good experience with the restaurant personnel as well as the purser. But the reception employee provided a sub par service. A final word, this resort has not the structure for individuals having a mobility impairment. ”

”The hotel was tidy and the location in the village was convenient. There were some restaurants nearby and it was easy to drive and visit the beaches of the area. Parking was easy and spacious. The pool area was nice and quiet, and the breakfast was comprehensive. The bathrooms could have been more workable, there was a bit of inconvenience. All in all the hotel was pretty nice and we had a good stay.”

”Loved the location and grounds, doing some work on property, some of cabanas and gazebos needed work. Great path to cliffs, and pathways great. Breakfast was great, lots of selection. Pools looked lovely. Part of facility ran out of water our 2nd night and part of next day, no coffee etc at breakfast or shower access. It did come back, but we were checking out. Loved the authentic feeling of it.”

”After a difficult start trying to find my villa on a cold rainy night because of the useless map given out at check-in, number 407 proved spacious and comfortable and the kitchenette well stocked and easy to use. The cleaning and support staff were all friendly. Breakfast when ordered was generous and good and it was a delight to be given fresh bread on the first morning. I didn't have time to sample the L'Escargot restaurant but did find the small library in the reception building. Thankful to...

”I booked a double room, and it was spacious and clean. The location is good - close to a supermarket and restaurant choices although a walk from the old town. Good for a stay if you're hiking the Fisherman's Trail although the luke warm shower wasn't all that ”

”Unfortunately we seem to have been given the worst unit despite all the others being empty! No heater, broken shower head, shower draining too slowly to cope with the flow, table dangerously unstable, toilet consistently running, bench sofas which weren’t comfortable at all. ”
