”Property was purchased by another hotel vendor who also owns Praia Marina Hotel. Upon arrival at Varandas, there is no one there at the reception. You have to walk over to Praia Marina to speak to them, then come back wait for someone to come over to check you in. If you are an elderly person or handicap this is a huge problem. Then on the evening prior to leaving, we went over to Praia Marina because no one was at Varandas, so that we could set up for a taxi to pick us up the following...

”The Angra Marina Hotel has an amazing view of the harbour, and easy access off of one of the main roads and is a short walk down to the harbour and nearby shops and restaurants. Although be aware that the only entrance to the hotel is at the top of a steep hill and there is no access to/from town from the lower levels. However, the hotel itself is dated and poorly maintained - the elevators say they're going down but go up, the roof paint was peeling in the pool area, the bathrooms in the room...

This is not a traditional hotel, but you get to stay at a fantastique old house with great history and athmosphere. The premises have cats, chickens, ducks and dogs. Would recommend a stay here if you want something out of the ordinary. ”
