We recently stayed at Secrets Royal Beach Punta Cana and while the resort itself is nice, our experience with the “special breakfast” presentation was extremely disappointing.
We were invited the day before to attend what was described as a special breakfast with a 60-minute presentation. Instead, it turned into a nearly 3-hour high-pressure sales pitch during a regular breakfast. We were rushed while eating and had to answer questions throughout, which took away from the experience entirely.
Even after clearly declining multiple times, we were passed between several representatives and the process continued. At one point, we were even encouraged to misrepresent how long we had been together, which felt inappropriate and unprofessional. Toward the end, one of the representatives made a remark implying the decision was about whether we could afford it, which was unnecessary and uncomfortable.
This also impacted a scheduled excursion we had later that day, taking away valuable vacation time we had planned in advance.
To make matters worse, we later spoke with another couple who went through the same process and received $400 in compensation, while we were given only $80. That inconsistency, combined with the time lost and overall experience, was very disappointing.
We attempted to address this directly with the hotel but received no meaningful resolution and were told the program operates independently, they practically blew me off. Would not recommend....
