Charming Couples Get-away at Put-in-Bay. - The Screened Inn

Clean, quality newer construction private apartment. Located just a 10 min walk along the lake from heart of downtown. The perfect spot is located right next to Perry's Monument. It's a wonderful place for couples who want a much nicer experience than a hotel. Kids are welcome too, but know there is only one bed and a couch. Excellent sunrises & sunsets! Private entrance up a short set of stairs leads to hardwood floors, shiplap walls, and colorful tile. Tile and glass shower, and extra closet space.

This is a second-story apartment, so there is a set of stairs. The main living area has a direct view of the monument, a chair and a small couch. We are located in the narrowest part of the island, so we can get some nice breezes off the lake depending on wind direction. You are welcome to open up the windows and enjoy it. The kitchen has pots and pans, a dishwasher, a toaster, a coffee maker and filters, and utensils. If there is anything missing you need just ask and I'll do my best to provide it. The bedroom is separate from the main living area and has blackout curtains if you like to keep the sun out, a queen-size bed, a walk-in closet with hangers and a dresser. The main room and bedroom both have a TV with local antenna channels only. The television in the main room also has Roku, and you are welcome to sign in on any streaming account you have. You will be provided with clean linens for the bed and bath. We also have extra blankets and towels. If you need the washer and dryer, just ask. There is a very small patio off the upstairs. I want you to fully enjoy your island experience and will do anything I can to accommodate you as my guest.

There is a stamped concrete patio with a small campfire ring next to the restored and re-purposed fish cleaning shack. (Sorry, fisherman, no more fish cleaning in here) The old shack sat by the lake back in the 40's and over the years, it was moved to my property, where it was restored and now used as a small screened-in seating area. This is a great place to enjoy your morning coffee, afternoon BBQ, or a sip of wine at night by the fire. Access to the lake can be gained through the small bathing beach at the monument or at the end of State Route 357, or at one of the parks. Depending on where you are, you can swim or fish, and there is a launching ramp downtown should you need to launch a boat.

I'm usually always around. I can be reached by call or text and assist with your needs. If you need an early or late check in just ask. It's typically not a problem. If it's your first time on the island and you would like a tour around, just ask. We can normally work out a time I can drive you around and show you the places, or if you need a ride downtown, please ask- Normally I can accommodate.

My goal is to open my place to you and make your stay as comfortable as possible. If you would like to come on a Thursday or have any requests, please just ask, many times I can accommodate. Our apartment accommodates 2 adults only. If you have children (12 and under only) there is a small couch they can sleep on. Please do not show up with more than 2 adults; I do not have the means to accommodate them. I will have to turn down any extra guests not registered. Parking is available at the house, but keep in mind that waiting on the ferry boats could be up to a couple of hours depending on when you arrive or leave. There are lots of taxis available to take you around. We are easy people to get along with and respect goes a long way here. We like to have fun but I do not tolerate any loud parties or belligerent drunkenness, and DO NOT bring back people or groups of people to the house. The house is only for the guests registered through VRBO, You will be removed immediately and no refund.

The laundry is washed in Tide Free and sensitive. If that is an issue for you please let us know at time of booking and you are welcome to bring your own linens.

There is free Wi-Fi for your use. The service is provided for your enjoyment but you are responsible for safe and appropriate use complying with all laws. If there is any loss of service please contact us, however, we are located on an island, so internet service can be spotty. No refunds will be given for lack of or loss of Wi-Fi/internet service.
