Get back to nature and stay in this cozy rustic log cabin. Surrounded by large trees, a small creek and a walking trail along deactivated railway tracks, this cabin is a great escape from city living. Conveniently located close to Qualicum Beach, just a minute's drive from the ocean and a 45 minute drive to Mount Washington. Banjo the dog & Muffin the cat will happily welcome anyone travelling with pets. Come escape and enjoy a unique rustic living experience!
The cabin's kitchenette is equipped with everything you need to cook a simple meal. A two element burner, fridge, toaster oven, BBQ, small microwave and coffee machine. A shower and bathroom sink are located inside the cabin. The toilet is located outside in an outhouse, about 20 steps away. Light a fire in the wood stove and keep it cozy and warm all night for a real cabin experience. Cozy up for the night in a comfy queen sized bed up in the loft. Towels & linens are provided. If you’re not quite ready for bed, enjoy a DVD or stream a show, play a board game, or have a campfire outside and visit the animals.
The cabin is located on the end of our property. We share the yard with you (lucky!!). We are not shy to company and don't mind you exploring the forest, creek and railway. If your pup loves to play, Banjo will happily run around the unfenced yard with them.
We are usually around our house if anything is needed. We may sometimes be busy in the yard during your stay. We have a wood mill and a tractor that can be noisy. We work within reasonable daytime hours but can’t guarantee quiet days. Still, better than any city traffic noises (in our humble opinion) and hope you come out and join the fun! Our home and the cabin are adjacent to each other and share a yard.
Take as much space/privacy as you need or come say hi if you're looking for some tips on the area.
Ten minute drive to the beautiful downtown of Qualicum Beach. Just minutes to the local beaches. If you would like to lounge by the lake instead of the ocean we are located just 15 minutes from Spider Lake. If you’re feeling adventurous, check out Horne Lake Caves.
If you’re travelling to and from Tofino, this is a great location to break up the drive. Just 10 minutes from the main highway.
We offer bins of firewood for $10/bin (to cover our costs) on an honour system. Please leave cash in the cabin or send an email money transfer to messer.courtnee at g mail dot com.
Please indicate if you plan on bringing your pooch by adding them to your reservation.
Please also be aware that we have a dog (Banjo), a cat (Muffin), and 2 toddlers who roam the property. Banjo & the kids love canine company BUT please leash your pooch if necessary. We will not tolerate constant barking or chasing.
The outhouse is the only toilet.
-Please let us know if you plan on bringing your pooch by adding them to your reservation.
-There is no toilet in the bathroom. You must use the rustic outhouse located outside the cabin.
-We offer totes of wood on an honour system for $10 each.
-The wood stove keeps the cabin toasty warm but it can still be a bit drafty so slippers are recommended.
-We have pets (dogs/cats/chickens/ducks) that roam free. If your dog is off leash, you must be out with them.
-We live in an adjacent house on the property. When you arrive, our 2 dogs will likely run over to greet you. Don’t be alarmed if they bark, they have grown up around kids and are the friendliest dogs ever.
