Independent – Ragged Point, San Simeon

”This hotel is on a large property with a spacious courtyard. Our room had a small balcony which we enjoyed. Hearst Castle, Elephant Seals (and Otters!), the light house, and Moonstone beach are all short drives away. Parking is easy. We had an issue with the first room we were given, but the front desk quickly assigned us to another room. They ask to let them know if you are arriving late. The Big Sur restaurant next door makes a reliable breakfast with American and Mexican-American choices. San...

”The property was nothing outstanding. It was adequate and clean. Parking was convenient as it's a small lot. What made it alright was it's location on moonstone beach. It's an older motel property that was upgraded and rooms remodeled, and I think $700+ for two nights was overpriced. They did serve a continental breakfast that was ok, if you wanted something light. ”We stayed here only one night during our road trip. The hotel is near the Hearst Castle visitor center and some miles away from the elephant seal vista point (which I totally recommend). Hotel has a small pool, a restaurant and a bar and there are small shops nearby. Everything you can hope for a quick or even longer stop. Rooms were clean and nice. ”
