Excellent house for a large group. Grounds are amazing, just wish we had been home more. Owners had great communication and gave great recommendations for activities in the house, enjoyed the wine tasting and the on site yoga!

Beautiful house and grounds. Many amenities to entertain everyone from 1 to 100 years old. Just be sure you can navigate stairs, as all bedrooms were either upstairs or downstairs.

The owners were wonderful, they accommodated our needs with communicated rules. The house was beautiful, inside and out. There was plenty of room for our big family. The salt water pool was amazing, and kept us all nice and cool in the heat. The property was huge, the outdoors well kept, and the nature was incredible to see. We would definitely come back.

This property is amazing in so many ways and our family reunion was a success because of the ample space for 9 adults and 5 children, its pristine condition, amenities and a beyond great owner. Perfect Place for Family or College Reunion

Spent three days at the house without leaving. The turf and barn provided so many activities and the whiskey room let us carry on into the night without disturbing the neighbors.

Beautiful property!

We had a wonderful stay at this beautiful property during our July 4th vacation! The entire setup was thoughtfully designed—from the pool to the pond to the charming barn activities, everything was perfect for a relaxing and fun getaway. We especially loved spending time by the pool and exploring the peaceful outdoor spaces. Great wildlife too! The beds were a bit uncomfortable for our taste, but that’s such a small thing compared to how much we enjoyed everything else. Thank you for such a lovely experience we’d definitely come back!

Family trip to Raleigh

Overall stay was fantastic- great communication and property was fitting for a group of 10 adults. We have been renting luxury accommodations for 8 years now and this property had great amenities. A few areas for improvement are we suggest putting tv’s in each room as everyone expects that amenity as well double checking remotes are operating properly. We also encountered the owner coming over the very next morning after our arrival to conduct their daily routine maintenance but when I expressed we had never encountered an owner coming over while we occupied their home, they were willing to adjust and we truly appreciated their ability to work with us- made the difference in our stay! All in all great time and great experience!! Highly recommend…

Duke Commencement 2025 Family Celebration Oasis

We enjoyed and excellent stay at the Estate. It was our base camp for the weekend. The layout offered privacy for our guests in all bedrooms. the primary bedroom is wonderful. The kitchen is extremely well provisioned for foodies and cooks. the outdoor amenities are awesome. the pier on the pond is a cool gathering place. the salt water pool did not disappoint. the games and gathering space at the barn offered a cool hangout for our celebration. we especially enjoyed corn hole and ping pong. We had ages ranging from 23 to 85! Everyone raved about the Estate and our time together. thank you to our Hosts for a wonderful long weekend at our family retreat and oasis!

Beautiful home, wonderful amenities, attentive hosts

The photos don’t do this property justice! Beautiful, very comfortable, and well equipped home. It’s obvious the homeowners take pride in this property and value attention to detail. We were greeted with a thank you note and several welcome treats. Our hosts communicated instructions, updates, etc in a timely manner and were very responsive to any questions we had. The heated pool, pond with water feature, putting green, and games within the barn are just a few amenities we enjoyed during our stay. This home was a perfect place to gather with friends and family and I wouldn’t hesitate to look into staying here again if the opportunity arises.

This situation was a mess. - Property owner emailed the rental agreement 48 hours before our vacation trying to force us to pay more money and wanted access to the property at all times of day- Property owner arrived at the property to water flowers, blow the sidewalks, and replace pool towels. Incredibly unacceptable and made everyone feel uncomfortable and unsafe. Most questioned whether the home’s interior was being recorded. It was very unsettling-Maurice entered the interior of the property to “look around”Property is great, but we did not have a relaxing time as we were concerned about being recorded inside the home. Several were concerned the bathrooms were being recorded

70th Birthday Celeb

We gathered to celebrate our patriarch’s 70th birthday, and although we couldn’t make it to the mountains as planned, we stumbled upon a gem of a home that exceeded our expectations! Our son found this property, and we’re so grateful he did. From the moment we arrived, the hosts made us feel welcomed with a delightful "welcome basket" filled with snacks that the kids immediately dove into, and two bottles of wine for the adults that were equally appreciated. The hosts were incredibly responsive to our questions, and you could truly sense their love for the property through its beautiful upkeep and charming decor. The house was perfect for our needs, comfortably accommodating 11 of us across several cozy bedrooms. The Paddock and barn provided endless entertainment for the cousins, who enjoyed practicing their volleyball skills, competing in sack races, and engaging in friendly rivalry with air hockey, foosball, and basketball. We even organized a putting contest on the greens, which added to the fun! One of the highlights was the heated pool, which the kids loved even in October. It felt like we were a hundred miles away in a serene mountain retreat, yet we were conveniently located just 1.3 miles from a grocery store, making everything easy and accessible. I wholeheartedly recommend this home for a family reunion. It has everything you need for a memorable gathering, with plenty of activities to keep everyone entertained. We can’t wait to return!

Golf Trip

This property was incredible. The pool was lovely and the towel caddy was a nice touch. All of the outdoor seating, including the pond-side deck was great and the numerous beds were much appreciated for everyone. And the putting green out back and all of the games in the barn were a fantastic finishing touch. Would definitely return on our next trip to Raleigh! Thank you to Maurice and Melissa for making our stay wonderful!

Cozy Home With Pool & Lots of Extras for the Family

The owners went above and beyond to make this a "home away from home." We were able to spend quality time with our adult children and grandchildren. The owners thought of everything! The Estate at Nimich Pond- Amazing Week with Amazing Hosts

My family and I (11 total- 6 adults and 5 children) just spent a week at Melissa and Maurice’s property from 7/13 until 7/19. The check in process was seamless. The home is immaculate and spacious, Melissa and Maurice really care for it and ensure you have an enjoyable stay. They are the best hosts I’ve ever encountered through rental stays! The grounds are gorgeous and the property is private even though there are neighboring properties. When we weren’t exploring Raleigh’s museums we filled our time swimming in the pool, relaxing poolside and fishing from the dock. We made so many family memories through the week. I would highly recommend this property to anyone searching for a rental property and would come back! Thank you so much to Melissa and Maurice for your hospitality!

Best vacation stay ever

I don't know where to start! The house is amazing with many spacious and comfortable rooms to fit all of my family comfortably as well as a fabolous enclosed patio and we loved every bit of the place. The pool was definitely a plus for keeping us nice and cool during the hot summer days and the barnhouse is filled with many games and entertainment for all of my family to enjoy! To top it off, Melissa & Maurice were outstanding hosts, willing and able to assist us if ever needed and did everything in their power to provide a lovely stay for us. Most definitely would stay here again without a doubt!
