”Very good stay. Clean. Surprisingly quiet for a busy road. Comfortable and spacious room with all we needed. The shower was small but acceptable. The only slight issue was lack of water pressure. ”I stayed in Bealey Quarter for 2 nights. Luckily I was out all days and only came to this place for sleeping. The place looks nice from the outside but the smell of food is overwhelming in the Lodge and the room smelled like mold. My fridge was leaking so I had to put a towel under it. ”My family and I enjoyed our stay very much. The owner, Peter was so helpful and friendly. The place had a beautiful yard and we had a lemon tree right outside our unit, which was very clean and cosy. The beds were comfortable with electric heated blankets to keep us warm during the winter, and the kitchen and laundry facilities were adequate for us to do some light cooking and washing. We will definitely stay here again when we visit Christchurch and will recommend it to others! ”

"Good location, very clean and nice hotel.The dinner at the restaurant was delicious! Only reasons why I didn’t give 5 stars: service, room and view from the window. My first room was very tiny with super limited space for big luggage. A wonderful receptionist gave me a lot better room but the window was facing a parking lot, also the fridge in the room was very loud. I otherwise liked all the workers except one older woman at the reception, she was rude and lacking some customer service skills which the others had. When I checked out I felt very rushed like she was in a hurry to get rid off me and she didn’t even bother to smile or ask how my stay was(I stayed there for one full week). I’ve worked at hotel receptions myself so I know some days are hectic but still it doesn’t mean you need to rush people and be rude."
