Poor communication.
I booked a room for two nights only to discover less than an hour before check in that the reservation was canceled. Multiple possible reasons were given without a definitive reason. Upon reading the list of possible reasons, I learned that they don’t accept reservations less than 48 hours in advance.
I don’t know if this is an oversight by the owner of this property, or Hotels.com.
I had confirmation of this reservation. Fortunately, being off season, I was able to find alternative accommodations in Rincon.
Maybe, short term rentals do not belong on this booking site.
