Newly Remodeled Cabin Steps from Sylvan Lake

Our newly renovated cottage on Sylvan Lake in Rome City, IN features two bedrooms, full kitchen and full bath that can be enjoyed year-round. Central A/C added spring 2023! Spring, summer, and fall guests will enjoy water sports and area attractions like Sundaes on Sylvan, Sylvan Cellars Events Center and Tasting Room. Winter guests will love ice fishing and snowmobiling. The cottage also has its own dock if you want to bring your own boat.

​Sylvan Lake's 16-miles of gorgeous shoreline & 669 acres of water are the perfect destination for water skiers and travelers looking for small town charm with beauty and relaxation on the lake. The Town of Rome City is a tourist destination and an ideal stop while visiting northeastern Indiana. Sylvan Lake Indiana hosts many of Rome City's finest tourist attractions including: the internationally famous Gene Stratton-Porter State Historic Site, "The Big Island," and Sylvan Cellars Event Center.

Situated just minutes from the new 8.5 mile Fishing Line Trail connecting Rome City, IN and Kendallville, IN, it's perfect for outdoor enthusiasts to enjoy all that the surrounding area has to offer including boating, fishing, kayaking, cycling, hiking, and bird watching.

20 minutes to Shipshewana, the Midwest's largest Flea Market and Antique Auction.

1 hr. 10 mins to the University of Notre Dame in South Bend, IN

1 hr. to Ft. Wayne International Airport

Need more space for a larger gathering? We also own a home next door to this property that sleeps four.

The property is unique in that it has two cabins on one property, and there is parking for both houses. Please limit vehicles per stay to two (2).

The property was as described in the listing. The host responded quickly to my questions. Our only complaint was the parking. We had a truck with a boat trailer behind and parking was very tight. The neighbors were very friendly.

When we were looking at the last minute for someplace near Kendallville to stay, we never dreamed we would find a lake cottage! When I told my college roommates I had booked it, one sent back the listing to me with not available circled! When we arrived, we were delighted with a spotless, updated cottage. We will return and hope to stay longer the next time.

Fantastic home!

This was the perfect stay for our family of four (parents and two teens). The kitchen was just the right size for vacation cooking and the grill was nice to use for a couple meals. Beds were comfortable and the deck was the best part. We ate every meal outside, watching the sun change over the water. The kayaks were a huge draw and we used those extensively. The bathroom was spotless and just the right size. Definitely would recommend.

Awesome Fishing

Front porch was really nice. We ate supper out there one night but was too cold the other nights. Plenty of parking space. My two boys, grandson, and my brother caught lots of fish and limited out 2 of the days.

Close to noble county fairgrounds

Very clean, great location

This is the second time we have rented this sweet cottage for a long summer weekend. Property is very clean and is convenient to beach, grocery and is just steps from the lake. Beautiful views, quiet neighborhood.

Cozy lakefront getaway

My husband and I met our son here for a relaxing weekend. We enjoyed meals and games and sunrises from the screened in porch and kayaks on the lake. The grill was perfect for cooking up some fresh corn from a local farm stand. We would recommend the place to others and hope to stay again in the future.
