Hi Jodi and Friends, Glad to know that you enjoyed all the amenities of the cabin. We do try to respond quickly to questions. Thank you for the compliment. We DO dispose of all trash for you, as I think you noted in your review, AND We also try to be accommodating regarding the recyclables as long as it’s not excessive, BUT yes we do ask that you sort them to make it easier for disposal and we provide the appropriate containers for you to do so easily. I’m sorry that you didn’t text to check how we could be helpful to you as you navigated recyclables , we certainly would have tried to accommodate your needs as we want our guests to leave with a smile and all good memories. I am glad you found our beat the heat tips helpful… And if memory serves you were with us during the 90° weekend which is not usual for us in Maine but with climate change who knows. We do provide fans in all the rooms to be helpful, and beat the heat tips which I hope helped you . I’m thrilled you enjoyed the swim holes that we suggested. Hello Skip and friends, Over time we have found that our guest want to fully enjoy all the amenities of the cabin. Our welcome email has everything that we can think of so that you can make the cabin your own for vacation . This is sent out after completion of rental payments. To make things easier for our guests we also have helpful tips for use of the woodstove, pellet stove etc. Perhaps you mistook these for rules? But they are tips our guests have found helpful for their stay. Sadly, as mentioned in your checkout email .. though housekeeping was gracious enough to allow us to apply the $50 tip left to cleaning DUE TO the extra cleaning that was required to return the cabin to guest ready, plumbing cost incurred to fix the blocked toilet left by your party( which as you know required our plumber to remove the toilet from the wall ) , as well as replacing the numerous soiled bed linens and towels .. your security deposit and tip were not enough to cover everything. So the additional $130 was requested to cover damages. We are sorry that you are dissatisfied with having to pay for damages you caused. We agree with the principle of covering additional reasonable charges for our guests as a cost of doing good business. BUT …Your guests sadly left the property in a way where we had no other reasonable option than to inform you of the additional costs incurred by your stay. We are glad all enjoyed themselves enough to leave a tip. We wish you well. Thank you for your stay. Carol and the WPC crew.

Thank you so much Nancy and family for your kind words, we are so glad you enjoyed your time with us at White Pines. We try our best to make sure all our guests feel welcomed and have the best experience that we can provide. Our normal checkin time is 3 PM for guests , with a checkout of 10 AM. There is always flexibility in those as we want our guests to be as comfortable as possible. We were so happy to be able accommodate your groups need for a change of dates to the weekend before you had originally planned to travel , however , as we explained , the arrival on that Friday coincided with the departure of another group of guests. ( 10 AM that morning) Our normal checkout time of 10 am, allowed us to get the cabin guest ready in the event of a same day checkout / checkin such as was yours. Because of our desire to give all guests the best possible experience, we try to give the cleaning crew enough time to do a proper turnover .( Hence the later checkin time of 630) I am so happy that we were able to complete the cabin turnover , and allow you to come in and relax by 430 pm. We hope you come visit us again and remember that upon request , if we can accommodate ,we definitely allow for both an earlier checkin and later checkout so that all our guests may have the best and fullest White Pines experience. Thank you so much Rachel and friends. We are so glad everyone was comfortable and enjoyed the coziness of White Pines. Route two is our quick access to get to the mountains and it’s surrounding joys . But there are times when it’s travelled. We have good protection being up on our knoll ,but we always encourage our guests who bring their pet family members to keep an eye on them as we know our surrounding woods are very exciting with smells, and many places to explore especially by the stream.
