”A beautiful charming boutique B&B in Old Town Hastings, plenty of ambiance! Really wonderful 3 night stay with partner, we stayed in room 7 which is on the top floor - if you are very tall the height of the room may be an issue although was not for my 6ft 1ins tall partner. We chose room 7 as it has a deep roll top bath with a shower attachment. B&B is very close to wonderful restaurants, coffee shops and all the local sights. Breakfast was wonderful, good options for all including vegetarians...

”The superior room was comfortable and led out to a huge quiet garden. But the decking and furniture outside were rotten. The bathroom had an unstable toilet and a difficult shower. Insulation was poor. Presentation on approach wasn’t great, with dead plants everywhere. Having said that, we had a great night’s sleep and staff were friendly and helpful. Location great.”

”Stayed for three nights over Xmas. The walk from the pub to the accommodation was across a muddy unpaved carpark. Access to the room was via a combination door lock and privacy in the room afforded by blinds at the door ,room windows. Unfortunately there was no internal lock on the door and gaps in the blinds afforded a view into the room from outside. The room was cold on arrival and took hours to warm up. ”Have stayed in 4 hotels and B&B’s in Eastbourne and this is by far and away the best one I’ve stayed in. Victorian features, stain glass windows combined with a modern style. Breakfast choices were eggcelent with proper sausages and bacon, the “house” scrambled eggs was delicious. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Parking was a bonus as that area of Eastbourne can be tricky to find spaces to park at night. Would definitely stay at The New England again.”

"Traditional and homely accommodation, just what we were looking for as a place for our family to stay. The location was excellent. The services of the city centre were close by, but the hotel was located on a beautiful street in a quiet environment. The rooms were charming, one of which we used was particularly functional and comfortable. A very good traditional English breakfast, complemented by berries and yoghurt. I couldn't have asked for anything more for breakfast or from the hotel. I can warmly recommend it."
