Experience everything Rye has to offer when you make this seaside Victorian retreat your next home away from home! There are two nearby beaches to choose from - Beach South and Wallis Sands. Treat yourself by trying some local cuisine at any of the nearby restaurants you can find. Other lovely attractions you can find within six miles of the home include Odiorne Point State Park, Seacoast Science Center, The Music Hall, Prescott Park, Portsmouth Escape Room, and Great Island Common.

This gorgeous home is one of the original seaside homes in Rye. Although it has been updated over the years, it still retains much of the character of the original home. Prepare memorable meals and treats for everyone in the brand-new kitchen with all the amenities of home, including a Keurig coffee maker. This home also includes a full dining room and living room with cable TV and a telescope facing the ocean, as well as an office desk for those who need to get a bit of work done while on vacation.

When it comes to outdoor living, you will not be disappointed! The home features a large wrap-around porch with inviting Adirondack chairs, allowing you to admire the gorgeous and unparalleled ocean views. There is also a back patio, furnished with chaise lounge chairs, a dining table, and a gas grill. And when it's finally time to hit the hay, choose any of the second-floor bedrooms complete with unobstructed views of the ocean and Isles of Shoals.

The home is not recommended for young children or the physically challenged due to the STEEP stairs - the home was built in 1890

We enjoyed our time here. The view was beautiful and the 1/2 mile walk to the beach was convenient. It was a bit inconvenient with no half bath downstairs but okay. There also is no washer and dryer. Our biggest issue is that a bat got into the house one night. My son and daughter in law were very worried that the bat may have bitten their 5 month old baby, and if it had rabies it could have been deadly. Very scary for all of us. None of us could sleep after the bat appeared in the middle of the night. My husband went to the hardware store in the morning to get plastic and duct tape to contain the bat. We contacted Vacasa and they did send an exterminator. The exterminator euthanized the bat put it in a ziplock bag and suggested we call the NH fish and game department. We did that and met the officer and they tested the bat and it didn’t have rabies thank goodness. In the meantime, we missed a beach day and were worried for more than 24 hours waiting for results. What bothered us most was that we asked if there would be any compensation (I think one night of our stay or 900 would have been appropriate) for our inconvenience and they kept telling us they were considering it. I checked with them 3-4 times and several days later, they finally said there was no approval for any compensation or reimbursement. I know they didn’t purposely put the bat inside the house, but they were negligent in not putting a cap with s screen over the chimney to prevent bats from getting in.

Very cute and charming home. Very clean. Location is spectacular. Nicely furnished and well stocked for a rental. My only FYI for others is if your party includes anyone where steep stairs with shallow steps is an issue. Both bathrooms are upstairs (listing doesn’t specify the layout), so my 82 year old father had to come down those stairs several times a day. Even the rest of us, who are all avid hikers and climbers, commented how careful we needed to be on them. It’s not an issue unless you have someone in your party where that could be a concern. For my father, who walks 2 to 3 miles a day and goes up and down the stairs at his house all the time, they were a concern because they are steep with shallow steps and he had to deal with them every time he used the restroom. Again, wonderful house, no issues with it, but that is an FYI. If the listing had specified the layout with both bathrooms upstairs I would have thought twice.
