Resort is beautiful and rooms are updated and clean. The food is incredible! Swim out room was amazing.
The resort is small. Approx 75 rooms and seemed like only 40% full between Christmas and new years.
Out of all the restaurants, only 2 were open on any given night and get your reservation in by 9am to stand a chance of getting in.
The service is beyond terrible. When ordering drinks, order 2 or 3 at a time as it takes 30 plus minutes to get them - even if there are few people. We ate one night at the italian restaurant and it took so long the waitress asked people to leave as they needed the tables for people waiting. This was while we were still eating. Same night we ordered 2nd round of drinks while waiting for food. A huge eye roll and a huff from waitress. 45 minutes later asked to leave and never did get 2nd drink.
Water was muddy brown and dirty the entire time - not very enjoyable.
This resort has nothing for daytime entertainment by the pool. Just very bad yacht rock themed music over bad speakers. Absolutely nothing happens anywhere at anytime. Everything closes at 10, which means drinks are done by 9:15. Closing at 10 means lights out and employees leave.
If you want to get to town plan ahead. Taxis area minimum 1 hour wait. We got lucky with an uber which the front desk said is illegal- worked anyway.
The one way shuttle ride is just under 3 hours from Liberia and just over 4 hours from San Jose so plan accordingly.
