Casita Rustica was meticulously designed to give guests a private and relaxing retreat so enjoyable you may have a hard time getting out to enjoy the city. Our location is close to 163 and major tourist attractions are a mere 10 min away. Including the world famous San Diego zoo, seaworld, beaches. Waterfront, and the Gaslamp district. The Casita is equipped with modern amenities to improve your experience such as dimming lights, keyless entry, A/C , heat and built in-ceiling speakers for relaxing music or for getting into the mood for a night out on the town while getting ready. Inside the casita you will also find a full kitchen with all the tools to keep you cooking great ingredients that make great food. Outside the Casita you will find a patio with a lounge area great for reading relaxing in the sun or just a place to grab some fresh air. Very clean property tucked away behind the owners home. Extremely quiet neighborhood for you light sleepers out there. Parking is mainly street side, but was easy to park within 1 to 2 car lengths away from property during our stay. Very quick access to downtown and several malls.

Nice cozy modern apartment with kitchen/living room, separate bedroom and bath. Lacking in function tho, could use a bedside lamp and somewhere to put your luggage. No space for toiletries in the bathroom or hangers for wet towels. The outside fireplace area was nice at night but we had to buy a lint brush as the cushions were full of dog hair. Very convenient and safe location for us

Clean and comfortable
The "casita rustica" provided an affordable, comfortable, and private place for us to stay while in town visiting family. The property is in a typical older SD neighborhood where parking can be an issue; however, we managed to find spots close to the casita. We were pleased with the casita's clean and rustic decor and renovated style.

Taste of Living in San Diego
This trip to San Diego was partly for checking out the neighborhoods and real estate as I am planning to move to SD. The casita was the perfect way to see what living in one of the neighborhoods is really like abd check-in/out was very easy. Aside from a few evenings with hearing a few dogs in the area barking for hours, it was quiet and restful. The only things I wish the kitchen had were bakeware (I had planned on baking when I saw the oven) and lids for the pots and pans provided. It also would have been nice to have some blackout curtains in the bedroom as I am someone who wakes with the sun so it's hard to sleep once the sun is up. Everything else was exactly what I needed. Although it is small, it is just the right size for one or two people and there were many welcoming touches that make you feel at home.

Two night stay
We arrived one hour early and hostess was just finishing cleaning the casita, but let us go on in. As a casita, it was small but that was expected. The casita was immaculate, the kitchen included a full-sized refrigerator/freezer, full-sized stove/oven, a full-sized built-in microwave oven, a coffee-maker with supplied coffee, creamer, sugar/sweeteners, etc. Also plenty of dishes, silverware, etc. The queen-sized bed was comfortable and the bathroom was stocked with plenty of washcloths, hand towels, and bath towels. Outdoors were a couch and side table as well as a gas fire-pit that the host lit and showed us how to light on our own (just like lighting a gas grill). Perfect for a couple and the nicest VRBO property we have ever stayed in. Hosts were great, very accomodating, and the neighborhood felt safe. I recommend this property highly if you are visiting San Diego. Finally, the location is great! Seems to be no more than 30-45 minutes to anything in the San Diego area.

Great little getaway casita
We greatly enjoyed Javier’s casita. We were in SD for a long weekend visiting family. It was a great centralized location for us. The casita was easy to access and great to just relax in and/or pop in and out throughout the day depending on what our daily plans entailed. We definitely hope to stay again.
