Loro Ciuffenna

”Very beautifully located and renovated place with great history, peaceful atmosphere and super-friendly service. Breakfast was served in a beautiful garden and it was great as it changed a bit every day. Room was spacious and clean with tub and fridge etc. Great views and many nice places to hang outside and read a book etc. The pool area was lovely also. Great value for your money! The only downside was a bit slow/at times non-existent wifi.”

”The accommodation is beautiful and very charming – after all, you are in Tuscany! However, the price feels a bit high considering the wide range of options available, with stunning villas and beautiful pools. That said, if you’re coming from Florence, you can take a local bus straight to the Villa for only €1.70, which makes it a convenient option. The pool bar is nice, as you can order lunch there if you wish (though there are plenty of more affordable options in the area). The wine tasting...

”Small family-owned inn located in center of Civitella in Val di Chiana. Room was comfortable and included all we needed. It was cold upon check-in which the co-owner tried to remedy with a space heater. It took a while. The room warmed up after the first night. The other co-owner kindly offered me our first night complimentary. (Thank you again.). The breakfast was simple and included fruit, juice, yogurt, sliced cheese and cold cut, packages sweets, tea, coffee and water. The owners were...

”We were promised a room with valley view but got a room with town view and it couldn't be changed. Also the listing on Expedia mentions a kitchenette which is not accurate as the rooms do not have that. We were offered to free of charge be upgraded to an apartment after the first night, but we decided to just stick with the room. In the end the room was very nice, the windows soundproof so we didn't hear the church bells at all, nor the traffic. Great stay in the end!”

”We booked this last - minute and were really impressed with the whole experience. The property and grounds are beautiful. Staff was so friendly and helpful. The rooms were well appointed and quiet. Beds were too firm for our liking, but it was easy to overlook as the entire stay was really great. Good options in the restaurant too. The block of hotel rooms is in a retirement resort, which I think is a wonderful idea! Very much enjoyed our stay. We had a car and parking was free.”

Parhaat hotelliarvostelut kohteessa San Giovanni Valdarno

Hotel Horto Convento

8/10 Hyvä

"We booked a room at Horto Convento, and upon arrival, we were offered an “upgrade” to a nearby hotel under the same ownership, Della Calza Spa & Foresteria. We were promised a suite at this spa hotel, so we accepted the offer. When we arrived at Della Calza, we discovered that the “suite” was actually just a large room with two extra beds. The room was clean and new, but it did not feel particularly cozy and, in our opinion, was not a suite. We complained about the room and were moved to a deluxe room. After that, everything was fine. Della Calza Spa & Foresteria is a very beautiful and peaceful place. Our room was clean and had a charming traditional style. Breakfast was also great, and the staff were very pleasant. The only reason we are not giving it five stars is the initial promise of an “upgraded suite,” which caused some issues at the start of our vacation in Florence."
