”Good location- we could walk up the road to lots of nice restaurants and down the road to the beach. (Both ways were quite steep though). ”Fantastic property! Luis and Lucy, the caretakers were amazing people and helped us feel at home. This home is in a quaint town in between Jacó and Quepos and you do have to drive down a dirt beach road for 15 minutes to get there. ”Our stay was terrific - waking up to the sounds of the howler monkeys followed by layers of bird songs was amazing! We loved our compact apartment that provided everything we needed. ”This house has it all: an incredible view of the Pacific, privacy, beautiful and comfortable furnishings, and amenities. The outdoor space is breathtaking. ”If you want privacy and peace, this is the place. It truly is only steps from the beautiful beach. We stayed here the first week of May, and there was hardly anyone around, and we consistently had the entire beach to ourselves. The house was comfortable and clean. ”We really enjoyed our stay at Alta Vista. Our villa was well-equipped and spotlessly clean, the beds were comfortable, and there were separate bathrooms (with showers) for each bedroom, which was really convenient. The highlight was the gorgeous sunsets over the Pacific that we watched each evening from our private plunge pool. We grew fond of the brightly colored pair of scarlet macaws living nearby (and frequently flying over us). What could be more "pura vida" than that?”

”Can’t say enough good things about this property and the team taking care of it. Great location, great surroundings, clean, gorgeous pool, just A all around. Also saw monkeys and other wildlife daily from the back porch. Only thing is it’s at the end of a very steep hill so if you are limited in walking take that into consideration but we walked it daily to eat at the restaurant at the top of the hill and felt like we walked off all the bad things we put in our body all week. ”

"Starting with the positives: the view was just amazing, from my room I saw both the sea and the jungle, and sitting on the terrace during a thunderstorm, listening the howlers and looking at the scarlet macaws flying from a tree to tree was an incredible experience. I also liked the breakfast and food in general, and the staff was friendly. On the other hand, the room was very basic, only a bed, chair, table and a coffee machine, shampoo and poor quality towels in the bathroom. 2 plastic chairs and a table at the terrace. I had booked a room for 3, with a futon sofa; there was no futon in the room. When I complained about this, they asked why do I need a futon. Well, in principle I would like to get what I pay for. The manager was not ”available” to address my complaint, and also during the check-out the same staff member ignored my complaint. For a price of almost 300$/night I would expect more comfort in the room."

"We stayed in a room below the restaurant and woke up each morning latest at 6.30 because they were moving the furniture. In the evening there was noise until 21-22.00. Food was tasty and the restaurant staff is nice. We booked an ATV tour from reception but they did not confirm it with the tour company. They did not come to pick us up and we wasted 1 day. We asked for refund of 1 day but did not receive it. Better to book tours online. Guests are feeding wild monkeys with pancakes and cookies and the staff allows it. The tiles at the bottom of the pool are coming off. Good location close to park and nice sea view."
