”Hotel is a little out of town, and hard to find (no signage really, dirt road) but very quiet and comfortable. The owners and staff are all women, except a grounds keeper, all very kind. Breakfast was lovely. Pretty pool, perhaps underutilized, with nice alcoves around it where you can spend a few hours. Rooms are nice little cabanas, bathrooms partially open (but very private), which I liked.”

”Hotel Desertica is one of the nicest hotels my wife and I have ever stayed in. The location is 10/10, the staff are so friendly and the rooms are unique and luxury. My wife was ill for a day and the staff prepared off-menu chicken soup to make her better and provided local medicinal tea, which really helped. We had to change hotels due to availability but was so unimpressed by the alternative that we returned and spent the rest of our trip at Hotel Desertica. 5* all round!!”

”We didn't realize there were 2 properties under la casa de Don Tomas (check when booking!). We were dropped off at the original location based on the address we gave from Expedia but after speaking with reception at check-in were directed to their El Refugio location, which is the newer expansion and just a 3 minute walk from the original. The rooms were large and peaceful. Breakfast was included and excellent. Would stay here again!”
