”The hotel is big and clean. It has 3 pools. What we loved most is the huge bedroom. We had a separate living room which was also big. The bathroom was good size. The water pressure was strong. The air conditioner in the bedroom had a separate control from the living room. Staff was friendly. There is a casino and a restaurant. Free shuttle service to and from the SJO airport. Free breakfast available too. We had to leave before they started serving so they packed us a sandwich, juice, water,...

”We spent two nights in a boutique type hotel Volcanes. It was located in the very center of Alajuela. It’s a small family run hotel with a good friendly english speaking staff. Breakfast is served by your order and it certainly is fresh. Rooms are very tidy as all the public areas. You can find rooms for different price categories. We liked it very much. ”

”The hotel is well located since it is within a walking distance from central SJO. Atmosphere in the hotel is excellent as well as service. Yes - the breakfast could be larger or the pool bigger, but I always assess locations from a price/quality perspective and stress cleanliness and security. And from these points of view, Santo Tomas is a first rate choice. Highly recommended. I would go again. ”

”Perfect location if you want to see actual wildlife with out having to search for it extensively. Location provides a peaceful spot as it’s not on the main road. Many other tourists we met said they could sleep well because traffic a people were so loud along the strip/main road. We saw monkeys on a mango tree right outside our room and many exotic birds too. There’s also a beautiful peacock that greets you every time you come back to the property. Very safe spot too. This is the place to stay...
