4/10
I had a fishing trip chartered on Lake Erie and booked a room here based on location and price. It ended up around $300 for 2 nights.
External appearance - Good. Good parking. Pool looked good. They turn the sign off at night so if you didn't know it was there, you'd drive right by. Check in ends at 10pm, which seems odd.
Check In - Friendly person. Professional. Good first impression. Note that checking ENDS at 10pm.
Room - The room was clammy and smelled like mildew (strongly). The floor under the kitchen area and bathroom had some sag/bounce to it. I'm betting it's rotten under the carpet. I didn't want to walk barefoot across the carpet although it might have been clean. The beds were clean. No bugs. The fridge worked. I would not have stayed here with my wife/kids. For a couple men on a fishing trip, it was adequate.
Breakfast - Basic continental breakfast. Cereal, donuts, hard boiled eggs, coffee.
Overall Impression - This is an old motel in a good location. It's run down and in dire need of renovations. For the room I stayed in, $60 a night would be fair. The ~$150, I paid, ridiculous. We also noticed that the price was substantially lower had we rented that night rather than in advance. Live and learn I guess.
