”An excellent spot in the Stonetown. We stayed a couple of nights in Espresso. This location is near to the harbour area, and many shops for souvenirs or daily needs. The room was clean and spaceous, a slight surprise was the separate but private washroom - understandable in an old building with history and character. The service is excellent, and the breakfast was very versatile. High recommendations!”

”I loved the charm of the old building. Breakfast was included and was very good. The famous Lukmaan restaurant is right around the corner. There is a mosque across the alley, so you will hear the call to prayer unless you’re a heavy sleeper. There is also street noise but it usually gets quieter the later it gets. There is no parking. Make sure the taxi driver points out the building because it’s very nondescript. Overall a great place to stay. ”

”Everything was fantastic. We felt very welcomed, even though we arrived in the middle of the night. Room was very spacious and looked exactly like in the pictures. ”AC did not work and they couldn’t fix it. The water pressure was also extremely low which made it hard to shower and even flush the toilet. There was an awesome guy working 24/7 who was trying to solve all problems. Thumbs up to him. ”

”Three staff is very accommodating, and kind. There's a nice feeling they all know you and are trying to really help. We were there 4 days and it felt like we are a little community. ”I am a solo female traveller. Zanzibar House is an excellent property in so many ways. The staff are friendly and helpful. The grounds are a delight to be in, with lots of comfortable places to sit and read or contemplate the beauty of the area. I did not use the pool and I am sure it would be lovely. At night time I had an evening meal which was tasty and they accommodated my dietary requirements very well. I am gluten intolerant. I recommend this hotel if you like quiet and beauty filled...

"For that price very nice place. Staff was very friendly, breakfast was good. One night dinner was 10/10 but two nights I would say 8/10. Pool area is nice, gym is small and hot (poor air conditioning). Would recommend and visit again."

"Tosiaan hotelli on remontin tarpeessa. Sateella huoneen katto vuosi pahasti, kylpyhuoneessa hometta (kuten monessa muussakin alueen hotellissa). Yksi pyyhe ja olisi ollut kiva myös käyttää erillistä kasvopyyhettä. Huoneessa tavaroille vain yksi kaappi & hylly. Sängyn patjassa isokuoppa ja vaatisi vaihtoa, muutenkin sänky oli erittäin lyhyt ja emme pystyneet nukkumaan suorassa. Ilmastointi ja kattotuuletin toimi hyvin, erittäin hiljaiset. Terassin tuolilla ei voinnut istua, erittäin hutera ja muutenkin epävakaa. Altaalla olevat aurinkotuolit ja aurinkovarjot vaatisivat myös uusimista. Uima-allas oli iso ja sitä putsailtiin jatkuvasti. Hotellista pääsee mukavasti suoraan rannalle, mutta rannalla ei saanut olla rauhassa. Agressiiviset retkimyyjät samantien kimpussa ja välillä tulivat jopa veteen asti myymään retkiä. Aamupala... Erittäin surkea ja kallis tarjontaan nähden, tästä ei kannata missään nimessä maksaa. "
