”The entire place smelled like marijuana, cigarette smoke, or fragrance to try and cover up the other smells. They are using the hotel for over flow of section 8 housing so there are homeless people all around the property and in the hotel. There were people doing drugs outside the hotel and no staff member did anything about it. I did not stay and asked for a refund where the staff was very dismissive. ”Overall, we enjoyed our stay, but it came close to being a disaster for us. Before we stayed our first night we came close to asking to cancel our reservation. This issue is that the Beekman Arms has multiple properties so one needs to be careful when booking a room. The photos do not indicate whether the room is at the historical inn or at one of the neighboring properties close to the inn.
