The property is located 200 meters from a working farm, so you may occasionally see tractors and, in summer, a combine harvester.
Saulges is a "Petite cité de caractère" (small town of character) with its village center, churches, and Merovingian necropolis. The Erve Valley, a Natura 2000 site, is also renowned for its prehistoric caves. The area will delight hiking, mountain biking, and trail running enthusiasts: varied paths, varied escarpments, stepping stones… There is also a climbing site certified by the FFME (French Federation of Mountaineering and Climbing). Don't forget the Museum of Prehistory, offering workshops and activities for all ages.
Shops and services are available in Ballée (6 km) or Vaiges (13 km).

Hiking trails start right from the cottage. In summer, swimming is possible near the Saint-Céneré oratory (3 km). In the Mayenne region, also explore Château-Gontier (34 km) with its historic center, marina (kayak, paddleboard, boat, and bicycle rentals available), and the Refuge de l'Arche wildlife sanctuary, home to over a thousand rescued wild animals.

The gîte is located on the D130, between Chéméré le Roi and Cossé-en-Champagne.
From Chéméré le Roi, pass the Moulin de Thévales, continue on the D130. Do not take the direction of Saulges. Continue on the D130 for 1.5 km. The place called Marpalu is on your left. Walk 300 meters, the gite is the 1st house on your right.

If you are in the village of Saulges, take the direction of Val du Maine by the D235. Then, at the junction with the D130, take the direction of Cossé en Champagne. This will be the 1st road on your left, drive 300 meters, the gite is the 1st house on your right.
End of stay cleaning is included.
