”A true gem - and what makes it a gem is that hitel guests have access to the abbey after closing hours until midnight - really exiting!”

”I have stayed in a lot of Chateaus- turned-hotels over my years of travel, so I think I can rave about this stay with credibility. It was a 10 out of 10. I loved the period architecture, the period fixtures, carvings, the 20’ ceilings, the paneled walls and matching room decor, and the thoughtful little things like the gourmet tea sachets, Nespresso/machine, and a shoe horn in the closet.”

”Lovely spot, staff excellent, homemade, organic and locally sourced breakfast. Lacked an evening restaurant and options in Chinon in October were a little limited as off season. Great location to explore Chinon wines and Cremant near Saumur. Fontevraud-l’Abbaye was an interesting place to visit.”

”Appartement neuf, propre, bien situé. Avec parking payant mais tarif raisonnable.”

”Many things were not acceptable in regards to our room. The windows did not open fully due to the curtains blocking them and it was stifling hot. and when we tried to manipulate them, we were afraid they would break. The daily housekeeping was unacceptable - coffee cups were left dirty in the room, the bathroom didn't appear to have been cleaned at all, and in the bathroom the windows did not shut properly. The water from the shower went all over the floor. In the middle of our stay, we found a...

”Quick lady check in. Clean, comfortable room.”

”Great breakfast, well places, close enough to the city but not too close and on-site parking”

”Our host is awesome!!! Property is beautiful! Love it!”

”Apparently this was the cheapest possible room of the hotel, in a separate building apartment. The room was clean except the bathroom would need more scrubbing (there's visible rust stains and calc in the shower) and someone has left a black string on the mat - dont know why or where from. This was just a detail though. The worst thing was that the whole time, anyone could've have come to the door and see inside the apartment. Actually, that was possible from the walkway already, if I've left...

”We had an absoloutely wonderful two night stay with our toddler at Cave Auger. The upstairs family apartment was perfect for us , and we were particularly grateful for the excellent air con during one of the heatwaves earlier this year. The pool was great - warm and immaculately clean. Stéphane was the most welcoming host - and we particularly enjoyed the dinner on the terrace that was all local produce, and it came with our own little barrel of delicious wine. Breakfast similarly...
