The presentation of the property was generally pleasing. However, we encountered a few issues upon arrival. Notably, the cleaning appeared incomplete, as evidenced by numerous raisins scattered around the sofa. Additionally, we faced a problem with a blocked sink drain. Although the host provided a plunger, it required personal intervention to resolve, revealing a substantial accumulation of mud and leaves - a probable oversight from previous guests.
Despite these initial setbacks, our stay was enjoyable and relaxing.
Post-departure, however, we experienced an unexpected and shocking problem. Several days after our return, the host accused us of damaging the door lock - a claim initiated by subsequent guests and not observed during cleaning. We are confident that the lock was fully functional when we left, suggesting that the damage occurred after our departure. Despite this, the host dismissed our explanations, opting for a direct accusation and immediate compensation. The communication turned unpleasant, with the host adopting a condescending tone, insinuating that either ourselves or our children were responsible for the damage.
In conclusion, while the property itself offers a fairly pleasant stay, potential guests should be aware of the risk of being unjustly held accountable for damages.
