”I am not typically a bed and breakfast person, but the reviews and location tempted me into booking. I am so glad I did. From checking in with the host, to the quaint and well kept room, to the fabulous location and of course the incredible breakfast - everything was wonderful. Do not hesitate to book here, you absolutely will love it.”

”Clean room. Comfortable beds.”

”Super clean, great room, one of the best places I have stayed. It was however quite loud. Sound carried through the walls and ceilings and from across the street. The hotel does supply earbuds, a white noise machine, and a record player with an amazing selection of records. Hotel is well located and can be walked to from anywhere downtown. Lots of good food in the area as well!”

”The room was clean, tidy, and stocked. The overall ambiance was unique and inviting. Parking was easy and convenient. The breakfast was hot, with a variety of options. The coffee cups were too small, but going back for a refill is a simple solution. My only complaint is the lack of power outlets in the common areas. From outside to inside, the style and decor were pretty cool to make the stay more of an experience than simply a place to sleep. ”

”This hotel is fantastic! Gorgeous design, super friendly staff, perfect location, and great connection to the uva community. The rooms were well appointed with super soft robes and towels. The staff went above and beyond to greet us. We also ate at the main restaurant Poplar and the food, decor and service was perfect! I’m excited to continue to visit this fantastic addition to the uva community!”

”The staff is very nice and helpful. The check in and out process was fast. The room was clean and roomy. The bathroom and shower is big. We didnt get a chance to have the continental breakfast. The parking was plentiful. And also pet friendly. I would definitely book this hotel again for my next stay in Charlottesville.”

”The hotel is beautiful - sleek and chic! Great location and stellar staff. The rooftop bar and restaurant is my favorite place in Charlottesville. (The gluten-free pizza is FANTASTIC!). The rooms are nice, but there was mildew on the shower walls the last 2 times we stayed there. The gym has some broken equipment, but that won't stop us from coming back! The best value in the area. ”

”I always have great experiences at Holiday *nn Express. Room was clean and well maintained. Staff was super nice and accommodating. They got us a portable crib for my 3 month old which was really awesome. Break was great. No smoking allowed on the property. I will only stay at Holiday inn Express from now on.”

”Very friendly staff and lovely atmosphere. Room was huge and quiet. Breakfast was satisfactory. The only downside was the cleaning - a previous customer had hidden empty alcohol bottles in the room's cabinets that were left there for us to find - that made me feel a bit uneasy. But in all a good visit regardless.”

”No hot water for 2 days and no breakfast for the day we left for airport . Told staff and they said sorry because we booked 3rd party :( disappointed ”

”Positives--free parking, excellent breakfast, very clean, microwave, refrigerator Negatives--no restaurant as advertised--just chips & candy for sale. The reason we chose this hotel was because it had an onsite restaurant. We had to crawl on the floor to get the refrigerator turned on. There was no soap in the bathroom, but a soap dish--the housekeeper didn't have any--we had to go to the front desk for a simple bar of soap???? Fire alarm in the middle of the night left us outside for over...

”The boars head normally is a great place to stay. This last visit however, I had some issues. The front desk did their best to take care of everything. The staff was very gracious and very hospitable. The amenities in the room are fantastic and the linens on a scale of one to 10 I would give them an eight. ”
