Ryokanit – Shigaraki

”People do say that property is dated however it is a "grand" hotel. The style is reminiscent of older hotels but that shouldn't bother you unless you're expecting state of the art facilites.”

”Very nice onsen hotel within easy transportation trip from Kyoto. ”

”We had a room with a private tub, which was spectacular and made it a really special trip! It’s a little squishy but 2 people can fit in there. We also booked dinner with our stay which was another really special part of the stay. I would’ve liked to book 2 nights so we could have more time to explore the area, but overall all the staff were super helpful and having the pick up from the train was another big help. There was also a station in the lobby that had face masks, and everything you...

”Hieno japanilainen kokemus. Hyvää ruokaa ja palvelua. Matka Kioton keskustasta parikymmentä minuuttia. Hotellin bussi käy hakemassa ja vie asemalle.”

”The breakfast menu was delicious. You had the choice of Japanese or other styles”

”Lovely, quiet ryokan. Beautifull small garden. Lot of young travellers. Cozy kind of youth hostel. With taxis and busses one can reach whatever place. Lovely personel, except the owner whose moods vary a lot depending on alcohol intake. In three nights the mouldproblem in specially naths started to produce healthinfluencies. No smoking-place and in that meaning very pleasant.”

”Great place. It was even better than we expected!”

”Amazing get-away from Kyoto's city center. Public bath (onsen like facilities) were great. Our room was spacious and futons were comfy. Location was in the middle of residential area and the nearest train station was some 900 meters away. We ended up walking to Kyoto train station which was less than 2,5km. Great experience!”

”Staff were friendly and helpful. I'd they couldn't give answer, they found someone who could. Onsen is amazing, but single. One note is it switches every day, one day females, one day males.”
