Majatalot – Shikoku

”Great half-way stay on our cycling trip of the Shimanami Kaido. Very small room so somewhat overpriced for what you get, but location was fantastic, everything was very clean, & the on-site restaurant was so delicious!”

”This place was perfect for our multi-family group coming through for the Shimanami Kaido. The place was immaculately clean and had everything we needed even slippers. It was a beautiful authentic Japanese space with all the modern amenities. There’s not a lot around but Family Mart is about a 5 min bike ride away. We ordered breakfast through this stay with Wakka which was about a less than min bike ride away. I would definitely recommend this place - a great value stay.”

”The property has a comfortable shared sitting area with a collection of books, manga, Nintendo 64 and Super Famicom games.”

”The word Tranquility was probably invented by places like this. The experience begins when you meet the inn keeper. When entering you're welcome into what felt like a noble men's house kept up to date. You get guided through to the living area with a live edge coffee table. Be sure to give yourself 40 mins for check in so inn keeper can give you a relaxing and interactive run down of how the Roykan is ran! The entire vibe of this place is to slow down, be in tune with what your body needs for...

”Renovated room with a contemporary feel, but very basic. New and modern bathrooms and shower, love for details. Close to train station, restaurants and a well stocked supermarket”

”I was surprised check in was at 4pm instead of 3. Check in was at another property. The accommodation itself was lovely. It has the wood smell that I like very much. Although it is split into two units, each room has its own digital lock. The only downside is that because it is an old house, the sound proof is not done well. I could hear my next door neighbour quite clearly.”

”Loved the room and private bath. Beds were super comfortable as well. I would say it was like a memory foam bed. It was like the bed I have at home. Loved it. Staff was very nice as well. Breakfast was delicious as well.”

”This is a must stay when visiting Takamatsu, Kagawa. A great location, within walking distance from Takamatsu station and ferry terminals (10-15 mins), the castle (5 mins) and Kitahama Alley (15-20 mins). We stayed in the family room, which featured a private shower room and toilet, along with really comfy curtained cabin beds to sleep. The beds were so comfy. The room featured a mini fridge and comfy seating area, with a giant window. The hostel host was really friendly and helpful for local...
