”Check in was super simple and the valet parking was easy to manage. My car was ready to go when we got down to the lobby. Staff was very attentive without being overwhelming. ”

”Hyatt house was overall a good experience. There was definitely some pros and cons to choosing this hotel. Some Pros are that they have free breakfast, indoor heated pool, near waterfront and have clean rooms. Some cons are that there’s no on site parking and rely on street meter parking that you pay hourly OR paying valet, and in addition they told us bar hours and when we went the bar was open and would close early. ”

”Welcoming staff and nice location. But the property is very old and the rooms have a very upcycled, refurbished vibe. For a pricey hotel, I would have expected a bit nicer. Location is pretty, cool boardwalk with shops. But the noise from traffic, boats, and trains begins around 6 am and is impossible to sleep through. Valet only parking is also kind of cumbersome. Overall a decent stay. ”

”Was under construction, which meant the restaurant hours were effected by this and also in room dining. Not a luxury experience at all having to pay a resort fee seemed totally unnecessary I’d say considering. Won’t be giving this property another try which is a same as it’s a very historic Portland location but under new ownership and has lost all of its magic. ”

”I only stayed at this property one night while passing through Portland, but all of my interactions with staff were top-notch (everyone was so kind and helpful!), and my room was nice and well-appointed. The bed and bedding were very comfortable, and I didn’t hear any street noise at all from the 4th floor.”

”There is an upcharge for everything with this hotel. It is a nice hotel, but nothing is included, and these charges are not transparent in the descriptions about the hotel. You only find out when you arrive.”

”We keep returning and the property has gotten better since the pandemic. a little disappointed that they now charge for unsecured parking. I like the large rooms for the price but not all rooms in the categories are consistent. We were kindly upgraded after being placed in a room that wasn't consistent with our other stays. Small and not updated. We were very quickly and efficiently made happy which I appreciated. We will return.”

”Very enjoyable stay at the Benson. Staff was super friendly, and the room was comfortable, well appointed, and clean. My only "negative" is that the disabled friendly (no steps) entrance was almost always locked from the outside, even during the day. This was a minor inconvenience for me, as I am mostly mobile, but would have been a major one were I in a wheelchair. Otherwise, it is a fabulous hotel and I would absolutely stay again!”

”Rooms are decent but you can hear every time a door closes in another room. The toilet is very low and the lids have to be closed before you can flush and they slam each time. The restaurant is closed at night and there are very few nearby options. The checkin area is right by the sliding doors so staff have to use a space heater to keep warm. Overall I would not stay here for “pleasure “ again. ”

”I stay there for the first time last weekend and it was absolutely perfect. Beautiful, spacious room, more toiletries than other hotels. Greeted with a complementary martini! Opening the door for me and bell hop service. I’d give it 10 stars if I could. I will be back.”
