Tahoe Vacation at the Titan House

The house easily accommodated our family of 13. Check-in process was good. Kitchen was spacious but needs more spices (outdated and/or empty bottles). The pool, hot tub, pool table, foosball tables and arcade were a bit hit with our group. Biggest con was mice were spotted in our bedrooms and bathrooms, both upstairs and downstairs. Also, the county showed up right after we arrived and posted a warning on the property due to lack of required permits. One of the deck railings was loose on the third floor. The garbages in the bear bins was full the whole 5 days of our stay. The wi-fi was spotty. We weren't able to get the the master bedroom TV to work.

Good and bad

Property was clean. Coffee maker had wrong pot so we had to find ways to make that work. Lower oven did not function but top one did. Sauna wasn't very hot. Beds were very comfortable, and kitchen was well equipped. We had a bear break into home when we were not there but property management took care of that rapidly for us.We had a visit from a County of El Dorado Code Enforcement Officer that told us home was not up to code for fire prevention. Posted sign on house but property management tore it down ... little disturbing.

Great stay!

The property was very spacious and great for our family gathering. Loved the 3 levels for different activities. Even though the house was in a neighborhood you didn’t see the other houses out the back, beautiful views!

We booked this house for my husbands 50th birthday, and family from across the United States traveled to celebrate. Upon arrival the bedroom layout etc worked perfectly for our group of people. One of the reasons we chose this house is the advertising of the beautiful 3 story deck, with hot tub and patio furniture. Each level of the deck was covered in Pine Needles, the tables were covered in Sap and pine needles, and the patio furniture was not useable because it was covered in pine needles and debris. The gutters were completely overflowing with pine needles, making us nervous to use the grill that was outside in fear of possibly causing a fire. The Hot tub was extremely old, there was mold around the edges, and the temperature was set to 107. We turned it down to be able to use, and the jets then wouldn't work. We contact the property management company who did send out a maintenance person that evening. He checked the hot tub and told us it needed to be set to the high temp for the jets to work. We also asked him if he could come out the next day to blow off the patios and furniture so we could use them, and that never happened. There was 1 bath towel and 1 hand towel for each person with no additional back up. 4 days into our stay we received a knock on the door from the County. They said that the house was not up to code, that the pool level and hot tub and deck had not been inspected or permitted, and that we should not be staying there. We would like a reimbursement

Great spot for a large group with kids

We had a great time at this house. We had 8 adults and 11 children and there was plenty of space. The kitchen was well stocked with cooking supplies and the kids loved the pool and arcade games. Convenient location that was less than 20 min from plenty of beaches. Our only complaint was that the wi-fi was pretty spotty.

Family Reunion

House was great for all ages. Something to do for everyone. Would highly recommend for large groups, ours was a family reunion. There were 15 of us and plenty of room. Good location and we all loved that it backed up to the forest and a nice trail.

Bachelor party ski vacation

We had my sons bachelor party with 16 guys from all over the South East US House was perfect size location is close to everything and we all had plenty of room. House hot tub and sauna, game rooms were great after skiing and gave everyone something to do in spare time! Highly recommend this house for large groups!

reunion

The house worked great for all ages. The kids really liked the pool and hot tub. There were enough dishes and kitchen items. There could have been some plastic cups available. The house was clean. There could have been some instructions for the movie room. It did not work when we arrived but when called, they sent people to fix it right away. Overall, the stay was very nice. Close to the lake and parks.

GREAT FAMILY RETREAT

This place is roomy and comfortable. We loved the pool, hot tub, sauna, home theater, ping pong table and foosball table. Kitchen was adequate and there were beds for all 18 of us. Our only complaint was the place has great insulation and was impossible to cool off during the day and evening.

mixed review

Positive: I liked the fact that the garage was at street level and from there you took two steps down into the top level. The back yard view was open to the mountains and a dirt trail for walking. The pool table, foos ball table, movie room, and pool were as advertised and in good condition. Negative: The bunk beds were held together with a ratchet strap. There were 6 coffee cups which for us was not nearly enough. We were supplied with one roll of paper towels, but no napkins. The oven has a upper and lower unit, the upper unit took a long time to preheat but worked okay. The lower unit would barely preheat and kept opening on its own and then would shut off without you realizing it. The pots and pans are very dated and finding a couple decent skillets would have been nice. Before we came up I asked the host about the stoves, they told me they were gas, so we didn't bring any wood. After arriving it became apparent that although there are gas pipes in the fire places they are indeed wood burning and no wood is supplied. Overall: It's a good place for very large groups, and in my opinion if the kitchen was upgraded it would be a great retreat. If you can stay in a home with less bedrooms then I would suggest something else, we have stayed up here in less expensive and nicer homes. S. Dobrich

Not What We Had Expected For Our 50th Anniversary

We tried to make the best of our vacation given the issues we found upon our arrival. For example, the patio door wouldn't close and lock giving us a sense of no security in this rental; pots and pans that were not useable; pool door to patio was frozen and rusted shut; and, on the first night of our stay we had to do laundry on three of the bedrooms due to hair and stains on the linens. The property management company finally brought over a new set of cookware three days into our stay. The badly warn outdoor and family room furniture really needs updating. The positive things about this property were the pool, sauna and hot tub that were well maintained and which everyone enjoyed using. The home theater was also a big hit with our family. The negatives on this property were not enough to give the Titan home a top rating. Monica R.

Perfect for a large group!

We stayed here with 13 friends for my husband's 50th birthday trip. Absolute fantastic house!!! It had everything we needed for cooking. The layout of the house gave plenty of privacy for each couple, yet we were all still close enough to enjoy each other's company! Location is great! Only a 10 minute Uber or Lyft to Heavenly Village. Would definitely book here again!

Great family vacation

Communication with management company was excellent. House was comfortable for large extended family. Things to note for families with infants/toddlers: There is a pack and play and a high chair, but you might want to bring an expandable baby gate for stairs. We had a fabulous time and enjoyed our stay. The house could use some TLC, but we use VRBO regularly and find the same at most properties (not all renters treat the home as they would their own). Management responded instantly to all questions and requests. We would absolutely stay again. Great location.
