”South Point is a charming old-school hotel resort, and I think it makes for a nice base for a few days of exploring in and around Vegas if you have a car. If you don't have a car, don't stay here -- I'm sure they have a shuttle bus to the Strip, but it will get old quickly. We spent our few days traveling around national parks and not spending that much time at the hotel, but whenever we were there, I had very little to complain about. ”Everything was great except: 1: first room had a smell problem, but they quickly moved me to a different room. 2: refrigerator was not cold…in either room. 3: would really like a small microwave ”

”Overall, the hotel and grounds were well kept. The complimentary breakfast was very good. The staff was very friendly and professional. The one negative thing is more of a security issue was at one of the trash receptacles outside the door and it probably happened at night. As I left my room to go to the main lobby for breakfast there was drug paraphernalia and a bag of marijuana on the top of the trash receptacle intended to be used as an ashtray. ”Great hotel overall! The only issue is when we checked in, we were not given the room promised. Two queen beds did not accommodate our family of 5 needs. The front desk clerk was very friendly but said there was nothing she could do. My husband went back to the front desk an hour later and they were able to find us a room with the two beds and a fold out couch. Not sure how that room magically appeared but was grateful for it!”
