”AC had been turned on for us, access to 2nd floor from outside without stairs was a huge plus, feont desk staff very attentive, room was clean and comfortable.”

”The Mont Rest Inn owner and staff are the most hospitable and gracious people. The rooms and the entire house was in pristine condition. Breakfast was amazing!! The history of the Inn is tremendously interesting. Wonderful stay!! ”

”Greeted upon arrival and given tour and history of property. Short time later provided cheese tray and choice of wine on screened in porch with the other guests, followed by fresh baked cookies. Very enjoyable. Short walk to the downtown area for all the dining and shopping areas, great location. Room was very clean and in good condition. Slept very well on the bed. We will stay here again on another Galena visit. ”

”It was neat to stay in a historic property. In a Quality Inn or Comfort Inn style hotel, the thick carpeting would have been suspicious regarding cleanliness, but it was nice here. I would have liked to see formal photos and a description display about this property, like in a museum.”

”Exceptionally accommodating staff in historic building, but remember that all rooms are on the second floor, reached only by a long and narrow staircase that limits access for mobility challenged senlors. ”

”As I had found that this property was once owned by my 3X great granduncles I was fascinated by the history and walked in their footsteps. As I descended the original, narrow stairs with the low hand rails I imagined the original women in their high button shoes and hoop skirts more gracefully than me maneuvering them daily. It was a pleasant step back in time with it's antique atmosphere and original structure. It was my 48th wedding anniversary and staying at a family home made it even more...

”Had a good rapport w/ owner and his staff. Staff was excellent even when the owner was not around. Relatively new ownership that is steadily making improvements to the property. Easy access to the property and pleasant city and downtown business community.”
