It's remote -- the town of Claryville is like much of the Catskill mountains -- I was in Phonecia for several days last summer -- in that towns seem to lack a town center or even a substantive grocery store or restaurants. I was also warned that cell phone reception my not exist -- this was the case. However, the Blue Hill Mountain Lodge had a very nice restaurant and bar...

”Close to 2 highways”

”Very disappointing experience. My daughter almost slipped into the pool because the railing was loose, creating a serious safety hazard. We brought this to the hotel’s attention, but no refund or compensation was offered. There was also very limited seating by the pool, the hallways had a strong odor, and the location did not feel safe. Due to these concerns, we chose not to stay and left the property. I would not recommend this hotel.”

”Large room with fancy bathroom. Nice common area. Good continental breakfast. Only issue is we didn’t have control of the AC and the vent over the bed intermittently made us cold at night.”

”Check-in and checkout was seamless. Staff was helpful when needed. Amenities were cool as well as complimentary breakfast was a nice touch.”

”The front desk was very helpful when I called prior to arrival. The property was clean but needs some tender loving care. There were weeds out front and high grass. Breakfast was good.”

”Not all Hilton brands are equal.I'm used to Hilton Garden Inn. This Tru brand is more of an average Best Western. No coffee makers in room. Breakfasts were ho-hum to blahs especially scrambled eggs and meats. Staff kept TV in main lounge on Spanish speaking channels. This is in New Jersey. Obviously this was meant to entertain the staff, not the guests. Air conditioner was noisy. 1st room they put me in was a connecting room, where the loudly arguing couple on other side of door was unbearable....

”The front hotel staff was completely rude and told us we had to walk ALL THE WAY AROUND the hotel to get to the casino when there was a hallway connecting the 2. My mom had to walk down a hill because he was rude and didn’t even tell us where to go or what direction our room was. I won’t be going back.”

”The pool not only didn’t have towels EVER… the lights are not on at night! It’s pitch black. When we asked for the lights to be turned on we were met with a nasty attitude from the staff. When we asked for towels for the pool they said to check the storage containers near the pool… the only thing in the container was spider webs and nasty other bugs! It’s a good thing no one hurt themselves in the dark parking lot pool!”

”Pleasantly surprising room after a very off-putting lobby. NO ELEVATOR, which could be an issue to some! Lobby and hallways are pretty gross, but the rooms are clean and well-maintained. Staff was really rude, but I honestly didn't really care. AC was working, parking was easy. Bed was really comfortable. Very good cheap option in the area if you just need a place to shower and sleep.”

”The bedroom area was nice, updated, and clean. The bathroom needed some work: hole in the wall, outlets that didn’t work, countertop that was not fully wiped to get rid of soap rings, some regrouping needed, faucet for sink difficult to get “medium” flow, no drain stopper. But I will say that the water pressure for the shower was the best I’ve ever experienced. It could almost knock you over! We were directed to go to Entrance 1 for our room but markings on awning were faded and you couldn’t...

”Room was booked to sleep four: queen bed and pull out sofa. But the sofa only slept one (small person). Staff was kind enough to get us a cot for the 4th person. The original sheets on the pull out sofa were ripped and stained. Staff were again helpful and hot new linens. We had to shuffle the sofa a bit to fit the cot in. Then I noticed trash/rubbish that had been missed during cleaning. Staff were by far the best part of the stay. And not every hotel can be shiny and new. But...

”We stayed here purely to sleep after a concert, but it was such a tired hotel our room was very tired. The room had a faint cigarette smell but it wasn't awful. The staff was very nice and it was an easy location, but just a heads up ahead of your next booking.”
