”Restaurant was fabulous! Food was amazing! Nice to not have to drive! Saturday nights Irish entertainer was fun, entertaining and loved the authentic Irish music and information about Irish influences on Galena!”

”Although the boiler for hot water failed, the manager texted the status of getting it repaired & was very appreciative of the guests understanding of the problem. The room was very clean and the amenities were as advertised.”

”Greeted upon arrival and given tour and history of property. Short time later provided cheese tray and choice of wine on screened in porch with the other guests, followed by fresh baked cookies. Very enjoyable. Short walk to the downtown area for all the dining and shopping areas, great location. Room was very clean and in good condition. Slept very well on the bed. We will stay here again on another Galena visit. ”

”As I had found that this property was once owned by my 3X great granduncles I was fascinated by the history and walked in their footsteps. As I descended the original, narrow stairs with the low hand rails I imagined the original women in their high button shoes and hoop skirts more gracefully than me maneuvering them daily. It was a pleasant step back in time with it's antique atmosphere and original structure. It was my 48th wedding anniversary and staying at a family home made it even more...

”It was neat to stay in a historic property. In a Quality Inn or Comfort Inn style hotel, the thick carpeting would have been suspicious regarding cleanliness, but it was nice here. I would have liked to see formal photos and a description display about this property, like in a museum.”
