Second time staying and we can’t imagine staying anywhere else. We love the location, the porch, the cold air conditioner at night - everything about the place. We love that we don’t have to go into downtown for dinner with the places that are about 5 minutes away. Great communication with host.

Extremely responsive host and property manager. Allowed us to stay an extra day when our original flight was canceled and we arrived a day later. As mentioned in other reviews, new screens if the screened in room would be extremely helpful to keep bugs out.

Excellent communication and service from the host Scott. Villa was cleaned at a high level by the housekeeper which is not always the case at other villas. View, pool and other amenities were also excellent. Overall, they know what they are doing and I would rent there again.

Lovely vacation

This property is located about 7 minutes from town close to the top of a hill that overlooks Rendezvous bay. The views from the pool are gorgeous. The little cottage that my husband and I stayed in was perfect for us. It was quiet, had a stove and a grill to prepare meals, a beautiful screened in patio, a washer and dryer and access to the pool. The check in process was easy and quick. James' son met us at the car ferry and showed us the way so that was very nice. Communication with the owner was quick and responsive. We appreciated the beach chairs, umbrella and cooler for our day trips. Would definitely stay here again!

We loved our stay! This place was perfect. The location is close to town. James was very communicative and helpful with any questions that we had. The place is stocked with all sorts of spices and extra little things that made our stay more enjoyable. The air conditioner in the room worked well. We loved the outdoor screened in area and sat out there every night. We were able to do laundry which made it nice to bring clean clothes home. The pool area is beautiful and has an even better view. We only got in the pool once, but is a nice touch. The spray hose outside the door to rinse off any sand was useful. We cooked all of our meals, so it was nice to have a full size fridge, microwave, and a stove. There was also some coolers and beach chairs to use which was handy. The bed is firm, but we still got a good nights sleep each night. There is a fan in the bedroom that is really nice and is good for white noise to drown out the sounds of the roosters crowing. The fans in the outdoor area were great as well. Definitely would stay here again and highly recommend to anyone.

Perfect for what we needed…

The place had EVERYTHING one might need, from big sun hats, to a washer/dryer, and everything in between. It was close to town, but quiet (except for the rooster). We made breakfast every morning, enjoyed the sunsets from the terrace. It was not wicked fancy, but felt like home by the end of our trip.

We stayed in the 1 bedroom cottage on the property which was below the main house with steps going up to the pool area.If it wasn’t for the roosters crowing at 4am I probably would have slept in more.I would definitely schedule another stay. Great private cottage with all the amenities.

The perfect retreat

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The location of the home is perfect, we were able to easily commute to some of the best restaurants nearby and be back in no time. The 1BR/1BA cottage had everything we needed upon arrival.. it was very well kept. It really helped us out that beach chairs, snorkel gear, etc was right there waiting for us to use daily. The view from the pool is breath taking.. photos don’t do it justice. The owner was extremely nice and accommodating. We wouldn’t hesitate to book here again.. this place is truly such a gem. Thank you James family!

This will be our St John go to. We loved the screened in living area for hanging out and the air conditioned bed room at night. Five minutes from Cruz Bay dining options but also several quieter very good dining options also about five minutes away the other direction.

I will start out by saying that St. John is incredible place and if you're trying to decide between St. John and other islands, this is the place to go. The cottage was fine. It needs some TLC. I think a new coat of paint and fixing the screens on the porch would go a long way. The TV speaker seemed to be blown so we didn't really use it. I definitely would look for something bigger if you have more than 2 people. This was probably my fault but I didn't realize the cottage was downstairs from the pool area so we never used it but the views are amazing up there. Everything with the check-in and out was fantastic. Stacy filled in for James and was great. You definitely need a car. Overall we had a great vacation and enjoyed our time.

Charming & Affordable

This one bedroom worked out great for the two of us. It's a charming place with a great view. James is very accommodating, meeting us the Cruz Bay ferry dock to lead us to the place, which isn't easy to find in the dark. Rental vehicle is needed as it's not close to taxi traffic and roads are not walkable. Short 7-8 min drive to heart of Cruz Bay. It's a bit tired but has all the amenities needed, including full size washer/dryer, beach chairs, big towels and cooler. The king bed is very comfy. We 'lived' on the huge screened porch, with table and small TV. A/C available but we didn't use, the early Feb breezes and shade kept it comfortable. Shared pool deck level is super nice, with spa, rope hammock, and nice lounge chairs, and an even better view as its above the unit. There are steps to navigate. It's the tropics on USVI, so wild roosters with their early morning noise and insects are part of the scene, and the place is not hermetically sealed for the latter.

It’s a great building - just needs some TLC! The shower curtain definitely needs to go and some new sheets would be nice . There are some ancient fans that are rusted and could be replaced . Lovely screened porch with comfy furniture . The kitchen had all we needed .

Great Stay with Thoughtful Amenities

We had a wonderful stay! The check-in process was seamless, and the owner was incredibly responsive and helpful. He even met us at the Jeep rental and personally guided us to the property, which was a nice touch. We really appreciated the beach chairs, cooler, and towels that were provided—they made our beach days so much easier.To be honest, we spent most of our time either at the beach or in town, so we were really only at the property to sleep. The first night, we noticed some mosquitos, but that’s to be expected in the tropics. Overall, a great experience, and we’d stay here again!

Perfect Spot!

Our stay at James’ house was nothing short of perfect. He met us at the car rental place and we followed him back to the house (driving is fine, but takes some getting used to). He showed us around and that was it! The house is great for people wanting to explore St John or just relax. The porch had a nice breeze most of the day and the pool was refreshing. Very quiet and private. Pro tip: be prepared for steep roads and hairpin turns. Just take it slow and you’ll be ok. 10/10 would rent again!!

Excellent location

Property is very private while being just minutes from Cruz Bay. Home has everything you need for a great vacation. It feels like a tree house in the jungle. James met us at the ferry dock and showed us the way and made sure that we had everything we needed.
