Revelin is the original guest wing of a five-hundred-year-old UNESCO castle. The charming Tvrdalj Castle 1520 was created by the eminent nobleman poet Petar Hektorović. When it was complete with ornamental gardens, a chapel and a romantic stone fishpond, Petar Hektorović added Revelin in 1553 to welcome travellers to Hvar.
Set in the heart of his renaissance castle behind high stone walls, Revelin offers beautiful, spacious accommodation. There are five bedrooms, four bathrooms, a living room, a study, and a kitchen with dining for eight. There is discreet, off-street entry and a private, south-facing courtyard with dining and lounge seating for eight. Created for travellers, it is ideal for families and friends as a base to explore Hvar. Sleeps eight.
Step inside to enjoy the light-filled rooms, with lovely views of gardens and heritage on all sides, and air-conditioning in the five bedrooms. Enjoy the kitchen with its marble countertops and traditional stone sink; relax in the sitting room with stone fireplace (in use in the colder months). Make use of the bright and sunny study, ideal for homeworking. Striking a balance between simple living and luxury, you will find the modern conveniences you need to relax, alongside a neutral décor and natural materials to connect to the easy-going lifestyle typical of the Mediterranean region.
In the pretty, walled courtyard, there is a BBQ and alfresco dining for eight with views of the 15th century Dominican Monastery, ideal for stargazing after dinner, sipping an iced drink on the warm Adriatic summer nights. Revelin also has a small stone balcony overlooking the Church of St Roko. Enjoy unrivalled views of Petar Hektorović's Tvrdalj Castle, gardens and acclaimed fishpond, which adjoins Revelin. Please note there is no direct access to the Tvrdalj fishpond from Revelin.
Revelin has its aristocratic roots firmly within the nobleman Petar Hektorović's castle, which inspired its calm spirit and curated spaces to connect with the views.

The fascinating life of Hvar island is appreciated in respect of a certain art of living, loving nature, respecting it, taking an interest in the locality and its traditions, taking the time to discover the UNESCO Stari Grad Plain and its produce. Revelin is a culturally unique way to experience Hvar island, the only island in the world that has six UNESCO heritage awards, in a country ranked as the 15th safest in the world. For its sunshine, its bays tucked next to ancient landscapes of olives, vines and lavender, and its way of life, Hvar is the most celebrated island in Croatia and the best island in Europe (Conde Nast 2019, 2021).
