Restful Cottage
We had a just right stay in Strawberry with our sweet dog and young teenage sons! A break from the Internet with lots of different DVD's, games/puzzles (though we just ended up playing the ones we brought) and easy drives to our outdoor play areas were appreciated. We had a beautiful April snow with saucers available and built a couple of snow people. Though some upgrades to the cottage have been completed, I preferred the hominess and ease that the cottage brought to our stay. The cottage had great cooking tools and the beds were plentiful. Thank you for opening your home to our family, including our fur baby!

Nice winter cabin in the woods
Cabin is in a nice location looking down on a snow covered meadow and stream with majestic pine trees around the area. This was our second stay and we have found it to be excellent for a winter outing.

True Getaway
To take advantage of our son’s last week of paternity leave, with his 5 year and 5 month old kids, we chose the Winter Way Cabin, knowing next to nothing about Pinecrest, Dodge Ridge, or Strawberry beyond what we’ve seen driving through on 108. This is a special landscape, with the beautiful S. Fork of the Stanislaus flowing nearby and a wonderful collection of homes and cabins, both new and historic making up this rustic, wooded community. The cabin is nicely appointed with indoor and outdoor spaces, generous enough for all of us to play and relax.

Strawberry Winter Cabin
Check in was a breeze, cabin was in excellent location (near Dodge Ridge, river, and Strawberry Inn/store), hot tub was a nice addition, kitchen was well stocked. Only downside we’re the upstairs beds that were a bit uncomfortable and old.

We have stayed at this property 4 times over the last 8 years and there is a reason we keep coming back. Note that there is very bad cell service and no wifi but it’s refreshing to be disconnected!

Quiet retreat!

Wonderful Cabin
We love this place. This is our 4th time returning because it’s so great. Great location- close to Pinecrest and Dodge Ridge. There is a great hike down the river just steps from the cabin with rock climbing and fishing. The hot tub is a huge plus in all the seasons. The cabin is clean and warm and the kitchen has everything to fit your cooking needs.

Another Great Time!
We just ended another great stay/fishing trip at the Winter Way Cabin. As always, it was clean, had all the amenities, and was nice and quiet. We primarily visit Pinecrest to fish so it's nice to be able to cook and take a hot shower everyday. We've been staying at the Winter Way cabin for a few years now and we've always had a great time. I highly recommend it.

Lovely place
We liked the cabin quite a lot. Beautiful location, the hot tub is great. Only downsides were that the dishwasher smells terrible and we couldn't use it or solve it by running it empty, and there's no door on one of the bathrooms. It wasn't really a problem for us, but in case it's not noted on the description, it could be an issue for some. But overall a very good experience.

Very quaint cabin tucked in the woods
This little cabin was perfect for our stay. The host was very responsive with the little extra things we needed. We really emjoyed our stay here. The back porch was a nice addition to the cabin with a view of the river. The cabin was tucked away at the end of strawberry making our stay very secluded and quiet...which was perfect.

Cozy cabin in the trees
The property was a cozy cabin in our favorite place, Strawberry, Ca to relax and enjoy family time. The owner was great communicating when we had questions. He went out of the way to make sure all our needs were met.

Terrific cabin in a beautiful area
We had a wonderful time at the Winter Way cabin. It was a good size, very comfortable for the four of us and our dog, and on a quiet street surrounded by the forest. Even though we've been going to the area for over 25 years, we'd never been on this side of the river, and it was beautiful and peaceful. We hope to come back!

Family 4th of July trip
Quaint mountain cabin, very cizy and rustic. Just a short drive to Pinecrest lake made it very convenient. My only suggestion would be to let guests know to bring trash bags and extra paper towels and toilet paper. We also bought dishwasher soap as bottle was nearly empty. We left that and extra toilet paper for the next guests. Oven could use a cleaning, but it's hard to do that with what I am sure is a quick turnaround between guests. All in all a very peaceful and good time.

Warm with a great view
Celebrating my 40th with friends and family. Great views, great house, and great times. A very roomy space, wonderful wood burning fireplace. Spent lots of time on the porch with the dog listening to the river. Before the heat turned up we made use of the hot tub to top off our stay. Would highly recommend and we’ll be back! Family reunion
The cabin was perfect! We filled all 8 beds one night with family from as far as New Zealand, Chicago, Colorado and as close as San Francisco. Yosemite was close enough to drive to for the day, while Lake Pinecrest offered a challenging “ramble “ as well as boating and fishing and camping for our overflow. The views were as hoped for. The cabin was fully furnished as promised. It is spacious inside and has a deck overlooking the Stanislaus River as well as the hot tub. We would rent it again if we are ever back in the area.

We chose this cabin based on the positive reviews. Everything was great and we had a great time in the snow. Kind of funny that there is still a VHS player there, so we watched one just to show the kids what it is. Definitely needed 4x4 getting up there in the crazy snow, but luckily they also have a snow shoveling service.

We had a wonderful time. The place was very cozy, perfect for two families. The dogs had a blast walking around the neighborhood, in the snow and playing the the back with the kids. The strawberry market was very nearby as was dodge ridge ski resort where the kids spent most of the day.

I love it here!
Very beautiful location, very comfortable location. They come out to shovel snow so you don't get snowed in. Perfect for skiing at Dodge. We had a great time skiing powder and got out just in time to escape the blizzard. I hope to be back again and again. I image it would be great all times of year. I love the hot tub.

Terrific cabin in a great location
The cabin was even better than the listing described. It was cozy (heater and wood burning stove worked great, and there was lots of firewood), but also spacious. The upstairs has a bedroom, a separate bunkbed area, and its own full bathroom, so it's a great layout for two families, or people who want some separate space. Perhaps the biggest surprise bonus was the world's best sledding hill, which is right off the back deck. Our kids spent HOURS out there every morning and afternoon creating the perfect run, digging tunnels, and just generally having a blast. The hot tub was amazing, too. That's a rare find in this area at this price point. We come to the Strawberry area at least twice a year (summer and winter), and we would definitely stay at this cabin again. It's only a few minutes from Dodge ridge, and also close to the small shops/restaurants in the area. Another huge bonus was the incredible full service snow removal. We were there during a serious blizzard, and were wondering if we'd be able to get out, but the owner and two other people showed up and thoroughly cleared the whole driveway, walkway, deck...everything. It was awesome. The only heads up I would give to future renters is that if you don't like to crank the heat overnight, you might want to bring a couple of extra blankets (if you're going to be using all the beds. If not, you could just borrow blankets from unused beds).

Nice mountain cabin with view of river
We visited in February to enjoy snow shoeing and snowplay for two grandsons. The cabin is convinient to Pinecrest Lake and the Caltrans Sno-Park a few miles up Hwy 108. Cabin worked well for our family and we appreciated Marvin clearing the road and parking area of snow and shovelling out snow around the cabin since we arrived shortly after a snow storm. The description lists three beds but the photos don't really show the nice sized upstairs bedroom. We used the three bedrooms that each have queen beds. There is also a bunkbed but it is rather shaky, especially the top bunk. We generally accessed the cabin from the upper end of Old Strawberry road which worked very well. The lower end of Old Strawberry road is a long drive on what was a basically a one lane road due to the snow banks although we entered from this direction when we first arrived and it was fine. Main issue is if you meet someone, one or the other would have to back a fair distance to find a place to pull off the road. That said, in our nine day stay, we only met two vehicles, one of which was Marvin's, the cabin owner. Pinecrest Lake has a lot of parking and an excellent gently sloped area on the west shore of the lake that is a great snowplay area for kids.

Rustic Bliss
This was everything we wanted in our winter weekend getaway! We loved the location at the end of the street, the hot tub was amazing, the cabin is clean, cozy, and had everything we needed. We skiied at Dodge Ridge, took walks in the snow, enjoyed the hot tub, and played chess by the fire. There were even some sleds for the kids! Thanks for an escape from everything. We loved it!

Great winter getaway
We had a pretty magical time at the Strawberry property. The entire area was blanketed with snow and we received another foot over night. The hot tub is situated underneath a see-through roof allowing us to sit in the tub as the snow blanketed the forest. Our dogs also loved the property.

Great location, great experience
Wonderful location for Dodge Ridge skiing. The property is at the end of a road - very private. Plenty of parking, and the hot tub was a wonderful post-ski perk. The cabin is rustic, but it has everything you need for a wonderful family get-together. Check-in was smooth, and the host was very easy to work with. We had a mix-up with dates and he was able to fix everything with a single phone call. Thanks for the great service - it literally saved our vacation.

Great time!
It was a great spot! We planned on not leaving the cabin because none of us are a fan of driving in the snow and we were never bored. We had a lot of snow fall our first day and they sent someone to shovel the front and the back! It made it so much easier to enjoy the place without slipping. We all had a good time and took advantage of some of the games and movies they have there. The hot tub was perfect! Thank you again!

Loved it.....again!
This was our 2nd stay here, and we enjoyed it even more the second time. We are a group of 7 who comfortably fit in this awesome cabin. It was clean and well appointed, and we love the door in the bathroom that leads to the outside. It is great for families- all the kids were upstairs, and the adults down. We messed up the parking, so make sure to look for the lines when you pull in. Marvin is responsive and helpful, and takes good care of this gem of a property.

We were very grateful for owner allowing us to bringing our dogs with us. Check-in was very ez and the place was clean and got everything we needed! We enjoyed the hot tub many times and many board games and many homemade meals. It rained for first 2 days then 12/31 it started to snowing at the nighttime. I was so exciting !! I knew it is going to be a great 1st day of 2023 ;) The weather was good on 1st day of 2023! Yay❤️We went for morning walk and watch the river water rushing. Meet some neighbors. It was just great! *Print out the directions before you departure because there was no reception out there. *No wifi there FOR REAL! My teenagers downloaded some TV shows before we ahead to cabin and some game too. They survived 😅 They had good time playing snow with dogs and enjoyed time with each other as well. * Cable Television. We didn’t know Cable TV actually works until the night of 2nd day. My husband was happy because he likes to watch news. I can’t think of anything negative thing of this cabin. We just absolutely in love with it ❤️ Thank you for letting us stay in your cabin 🙏

Amazing winter wonderland!
During our stay it snowed the entire time and did not let up. We received over 3 feet of snow. There was plenty of firewood, the cabin was warm and inviting. The views were amazing and we had a great time playing games, eating food and having drinks. Cant wait to go again!
