I chose Days Inn by Wyndham Lakewood South Tacoma mainly because it was close to the location of my meeting and more affordable compared to other hotels in the area.
Check-in took longer than expected, although the check-out process was very quick. The room appeared to have been somewhat renovated, but there was a musty smell upon entering. I also found a strand of hair under the pillow, which was unpleasant. Since I only needed to stay for one night, I initially tried not to make a big issue out of it.
However, several maintenance and cleanliness issues were hard to overlook. There was no proper toilet paper holder, and the toilet paper was placed on top of the toilet. It did not appear to be new, and the bottom part was dirty and slightly damp. The bathtub faucet was leaking continuously, and there was noticeable rust in the tub. The toilet flush button was not in proper working condition, and the sink drain stopper was stuck, causing the water to drain very slowly.
I considered requesting a room change, but it was already close to midnight, so I decided to just stay for the night. Additionally, the air conditioning unit was very loud, making it difficult to sleep comfortably.
When I went for breakfast at 8:00 AM, the lights were already off and there was no food available.
Overall, this was the worst experience I’ve had at a Days Inn. The property felt poorly maintained, and I would not choose to stay here again.
