## Emplacement
A seaside resort of 9200 hectares with its 7300 inhabitants and located 12 kilometers south of Les Sables d'Olonne, Talmont-Saint-Hilaire has two faces: one historical, the other coastal. The commune was created by the merger, on January 1, 1974, of Talmont, the historical center, and Saint-Hilaire de Talmont, the geographical crown of the former, with a coastal strip and remarkable green areas.

It offers multiple landscapes, including: the salt marshes of the Guittière, the oyster beds of the Port de la Guittière and the fish marshes. Its protection is part of the European program Natura 2000, working for the preservation of natural sites. Classified as the first remarkable site in the Vendée, the Payré estuary hides a secret, rich and intact environment: dunes, coastal forests, oyster beds, salt marshes and fish marshes. Migratory birds are not mistaken, they stop here every year.
